Description

The Rubin Double Ale is inspired by the classic Belgian Trappist style of brewing, usually called “Dubbel”. It is a rich full-flavoured beer, with biscuit overtones, and is moderately hoppy with a rich malt aroma. Great as a winter beer or an accompaniment to a Lord Of The Rings marathon. 10. Farsons Lacto The modernised Cisk brand identity comprises many elements, working together to create something greater," continued Ms Weenink Camilleri. "From the subtle and unassuming use of the widely recognised and respected Maltese Cross, to the bold red lettering used in the word mark, each element has been carefully considered and crafted to communicate our provenance, our brand identity and aligned with our strategy." Maltese people have been consuming alcohol for centuries, but it was only in the 1920’s that Maltese companies started to mass-produce beers. Farsons started with a simple yet popular Pale Ale – but in the decades since, Malta’s beer-brewers have stepped up, with locals and foreigners alike creating unique beers that win prizes regularly. We have come a long way since the launch of Cisk in 1929. Today brands play a huge part in our consumers' lives and following this brand upgrade the Cisk 'look and feel' and imagery has been modernized and is making a bigger, bolder statement, ready to take on the 21 st century," said Susan Weenink Camilleri, Head of Sales & Marketing at Simonds Farsons Cisk plc.

You can choose between Lemon, Berry, or their recent Ginger and Lime version as you please or depending on what you’ll be pairing the drink with. 8. Blonde Foral Ale The most famous of all the Maltese beers, and with good reason. Cisk’s eponymous lager has won awards all over the world, and is the go-to beer for locals and foreigners alike. Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, commonly known as Farsons, is a Maltese food and beverage conglomerate whose businesses include brewing, sale and distribution of beer and soft drinks; importation, wholesale and retail of food and beverages; operation of franchised food retailers; and property development. Their “Golden Bay” and “Blue Lagoon” beers are also exceptionally tasty – and exceptionally Maltese. 3. The Brew GalleryCisk, the flagship brand of the Farsons Brewery, was born in 1929 and went on to play a definitive role in the local beverage industry. First brewed by the Scicluna family in a predominantly wine-drinking culture, the market soon started to embrace the beauty and love of beer. The group represents and imports a number of international food and beverage brands which are managed by Farsons Beverage Imports Company and Quintano Foods. The group is the franchisee for Boost Juice Bars, Burger King, Pizza Hut and KFC and manages this operation through Food Chain Limited. The group is further involved in property management and development through its fully owned subsidiary Trident Developments. [2] Gallery [ edit ] It’s golden colour is distinctive and its flavour impossible to replicate anywhere else – you literally need the Maltese church bells to be ringing and the bread-makers and fishmongers to be on the streets selling their wares for this beer to reach its level of flavour. 5. Farsons Blue Label In the last decade especially, Malta’s cold coffee enthusiasts have really started creating some unique amber brews, with craft beer breweries popping up around Malta as well as Gozo.

The Robust Porter comes from the team at Phoenix Raw Beer, and this take on the flavour profile for a classic English Porter adds another layer of flavour profile, with crushed coffee beans giving the beer further complexity. With caramel added from flavour, this dark-coloured beer comes with an aroma of roasted malts, metal, lactic tones, coffee. Farsons beers include lagers, ales and stouts. Its lager range includes Cisk, Cisk Export (Premium Lager), Cisk Pilsner (Premium German style Pils), Cisk Extra Strong Lager, Cisk Excel (Low Carb Lager), Cisk Chill Range (Lemon, Berry and Ginger Lime Lager). Other beers include Hopleaf Pale Ale, Farsons Double Red strong ale, Farsons India Pale Ale, Blue Label Light Mild, Lacto Milk Stout, Traditional Shandy, as well as Carlsberg, Skol and Budweiser under licence. The company also has a "Smooth 'n' Creamy" draught and can variants of Blue Label. Cisk Lager, Cisk Excel, Cisk Export, Cisk Pilsner, Blue Label, are also available in 20 Litre and 30 Litre kegs for export markets. Established in 1928, Farsons was the first brewery to be established on the island, in the town of Ħamrun, near the capital city Valletta. The brewery's first beer was Farsons Pale Ale, brewed to meet the preferences of the British garrison and navy stationed in Malta at the time. In 1929, Farsons merged with the H.G Simonds brewery from Reading to establish Simonds Farsons Ltd.

In the same year and a short distance from the Farsons brewery, the Marquis John Scicluna, whose family had established the first privately owned local bank, opened the Malta Export Brewery. While Simonds Farsons Ltd had been granted the licence to brew ales, the Malta Export Brewery was granted a temporary exclusive licence to brew Bavarian-style lagers under the names Cisk Pilsner and Cisk Munchener. [ citation needed] Today Cisk is brewed in a state-of-the-art brewery and as long-standing independent brewers, the Farsons Brewery remains committed to the family traditions and heritage that have sustained the brand all these years. The coffee tones and added lactose practically makes this a morning beverage, which gives you a great excuse to have it for breakfast – just make sure you don’t anything else planned for the day. 11.
