Description

You will get 56 minutes of cleaning which is two weeks worth of brushing twice a day for 2 minutes. The battery life is much better because of the lithium ion battery. Should I leave the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 charging after every use? All three electric toothbrushes have slim line profiles. This means that they are easy to hold however the battery life is lower than other electric toothbrushes. The Oral-B Pro 2000, 3000 and 2500 all will last on average 28 minutes which is a weeks worth of usage cleaning twice a day for two minutes. If you share the holder then you will need to charge more frequently. The Oral-B Pro 3000 is the most expensive however it has one more cleaning mode, another brush head refill and a better charging station. This represents the best value for money. If you do not have sensitive teeth, the Oral-B Pro 2000 comes in a close second. The Oral-B Pro 2500 running in third. Summary: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500 Our in-house dentists believe 3 features should be present in a good electric toothbrush. The Pro 2 2000 has them all. The timer and pacer help you to brush for the right amount of time

There are four points that Oral-B confirms about charging and general operation. They are as follows: Point 1 – First Use The Pro 2 2000 offers 9,900 oscillations and 45,000 pulsations compared to the 8,800 and 20,000 of the Pro 1000. The Pro 3 3000 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive) of the Pro 2 2000.The ‘N’ variaints of the Pro 2 and Smart 4 I am comparing here both come with the standard CrossAction brush head that Oral-B offer. The Smart 4 4000 has 3 cleaning modes (Daily Clean, Sensitive & Whitening) compared to the 2 modes (Daily Clean & Sensitive of the Pro 2 2000). That said, there are a couple of reasons as to why it could be argued that the Smart 4 4000 can clean the teeth better. If the decision was on price alone, then the Pro 2 2900 would be our overall choice, because although it is more expensive to buy, when you factor in that for the higher price you get 2 brush handles, it actually works out better value per handle.

The Oral-B Pro 2000, 3000 and 2500 all use the 3D oscillating rotating mechanism of action at 40,000 pulsations and 8,800 oscillations per minute. They will therefore clean your teeth with the same power on the daily clean mode. The Oral-B Pro 3000 trumps the others by being able to adjust the pulsations and oscillations with a sensitive cleaning mode. If you do not have sensitive teeth, this function will be irrelevant for you.

BlueTooth – If you have a Bluetooth enabled toothbrush from the Smart or Genius range it will connect automatically via Bluetooth and start the 2- minute timer. In fact I consider this the best value for money electric toothbrush on the market. I frequently recommend this electric toothbrush to my patients who are on a tight budget. It has all the essential features without being overpriced. Running costs As per the name, this connectivity makes the brush smart and potentially more useful than the likes of the Pro 2. The last difference, which I touch upon in a section of this comparison below is the price. The Pro 2000 is the cheaper of the 2 brushes. The Pressure Sensor Oral-B Pro 2, 2000 toothbrush, is the must-have brush for everyone who wants to switch to an electric toothbrush and improve their oral health. Features and Benefits

For more discussion on this and whether to opt for electric or manual, see our article is there such a thing as an eco-friendly electric toothbrush. Conclusion: good cleaning results but consider the alternatives There are no differences between all three of the electric toothbrushes. They share many of the same components in terms of battery life. 4) Portability: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500 A full charge takes about 12 hours, and I would recommend do so before you first use it so you can enjoy up to two weeks of brushing. Point 3 – Battery Running LowPerhaps long term the benefits and effects of the more powerful motor are noticeable, so for peace of mind, there is an appeal to opt for the Pro 2 2000. As the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 is a cheaper electric toothbrush, you would expect it to come with fewer features. It is actually surprising how many features Oral-B have fit into this basic electric toothbrush. Styling All three electric toothbrushes come with two forms of pressure sensor. A visible light that flashes red when you are pressing too hard and also a sensor in the brush head that slows down pulsations and oscillations if you are pressing too hard. These are both critical to prevent gum recession and tooth wear. Because of my bad experience with the Oral-B battery I initially wanted to buy a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean but the ones with all bells and whistles (Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart HX9924/03) was more than twice as expensive as the Genius 9000. So at the end a bought a couple of Oral-B PRO 2 2000N ’s and one Oral-B Genius 9000N to see how the very best and best value differ in daily use.
