Network: The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider. The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G is 164.2 x 76.1 x 9.1mm, so it’s not overly slim, and at 205g it’s heavier than you might expect too, though not enough to weigh you down. And of course, there’s no water resistance on this phone. All in all we’re not massive fans of the design, but it’s good enough. Power Samsung sells the Galaxy A32 5G both online and through AT&T and T-Mobile. The phone also works on Verizon and has solid LTE and sub-6GHz 5G band support.

Samsung Galaxy A32 5G review - 3G Samsung Galaxy A32 5G review - 3G

You get a sizeable 6.5-inch 720 x 1600 screen on the Samsung Galaxy A32, with a pixel density of 270 pixels per inch. That’s a fairly basic spec but still reasonably sharp. The refresh rate is a standard 60Hz, and there aren’t any fancy extras like HDR10. They’re still hardly remarkable – this is unmistakeably a budget camera setup, and we’d have rather seen one or two better lenses than the four forgettable ones here, but performance is respectable in decent lighting conditions, and there’s also scope to record 4K video at 30fps.But with 5G, a speedy chipset, and a battery that’s big enough to keep up, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G definitely seems to put performance – and price – ahead of everything else. So if that’s the balance you’re looking for then it won’t disappoint. On Geekbench 5, a benchmarking test that quantifies raw computing power, the Galaxy A32 5G scored 501 single-core (SC) and 1,678 multi-core (MC). The Nord N200 5G eked out 508 SC and 1,588 MC on the same test. Despite the difference in their multi-core scores, the two phones perform about equally well during everyday use. RPI: Each year your Airtime Plan will be increased by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in February plus 3.9%. If RPI is negative, we’ll only apply the 3.9%. You’ll see this increase on your April 2024 bill onwards. Find out more at o2.co.uk/prices. If you’re a casual gamer who plays Candy Crush on your morning commute, the Galaxy A32 5G will be just fine. Hardcore gamers, however, will find the phone to be a poor fit. If you’re shopping for an inexpensive gaming phone, your best bet is the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Also, while most pricier Samsung phones have AMOLED screens, this uses TFT LCD, which doesn’t typically offer as good contrast.

Portrait mode works surprisingly well on the Galaxy A32 5G. My test shots, with the default settings, had a natural-looking bokeh without any object mapping. If you prefer either more or less blur, there’s a slider in the app that allows you to make immediate adjustments. Portrait mode improves exponentially every year, and among current phones in this price range, the Galaxy A32 5G does an excellent job. The design of the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G is fairly conventional and won’t turn many heads, but that’s okay, especially at this price. The Galaxy A32 5G ships with Android 11 along with One UI 3.1. Samsung’s custom skin continues to improve with each update, and its latest brings deep integration with Microsoft Office as well as an updated camera app, an improved Eye Comfort Shield mode that automatically adjusts the screen’s display throughout the day, and the option to switch out Samsung Daily on the home screen with Google Discover. The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G's cameras perform well for a budget phone. Battery Capacity: Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4,860 mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone port in the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, so if you haven’t made the move to wireless audio, this phone has you covered. Battery life, memory, and connectivity Connectivity options include 5G of course, which really is the single biggest selling point of this phone, as it’s one of the cheapest handsets to offer 5G, which is all the more impressive as it comes from a name as big and trusted as Samsung. Beyond that, there’s also Bluetooth 5.0. Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy A32 5G has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G chipset, which is a mid-range offering, broadly in line with a Snapdragon 700-series chipset, such as the Snapdragon 750G found in the slightly more expensive Samsung Galaxy A52 5G. So this isn’t an exciting screen, but brightness and viewing angles are reasonable, and the resolution is just about acceptable for the price – though we’d have liked to see a 1080p screen. Ultimately the screen isn’t a reason to buy this phone over another, but it’s not a significant negative point either. Design Memory size - User memory is less than the total memory due to storage of the operating system and software used to operate the phones features. UK calls/texts to standard UK landlines and mobiles and when roaming in our Europe Zone. Fair Usage policy applies. Special and out of bundle numbers chargeable.4G phone required to access 4G. 4G available in selected areas. Memory comes in at 64GB, which isn’t loads, but there’s also a microSD card slot, so there’s plenty of expansion potential.

There’s a teardrop notch above the screen on the front, housing the selfie camera, and a fairly large bezel below the display. These are all hallmarks of cheap phones. For low-light photos with the primary lens, the Galaxy A32 5G surpassed the Nord N200 5G. I noticed noise and some loss of fine detail in most of the test shots, but there was less blur and better color accuracy. Low-light photos with the ultra-wide lens on the Galaxy A32 5G are good for a budget phone, but you'll notice minor distortion and light flare. With good light and a steady hand, the Galaxy A32 5G’s macro lens can take a decent shot. My best test photos, captured after lots of trial and error, were flat with some loss of fine detail. The worst were a gauzy, impressionistic mess. The selfie camera performs well in all but extreme low light. My test shots were crisp and vivid with natural depth. A little noise seeps in in low light, but the test photos were neither muddy nor flat—two common issues we notice with budget phones. Low-light photos with the primary lens have some blur, but color accuracy and depth of field are good. Display Size: Measured diagonally, the screen size is 6.5" in the full rectangle and 6.4" accounting for the rounded corners. Actual viewable area is less due to the rounded corners and the camera cutout.
