With the best-selling Samsung Smart TV*, it’s never been easier to enjoy TV. Dive into a huge collection of 4K films, TV shows, and all your catch-up TV apps – including Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, NOW TV and BT Sport apps** – all in one place. Not sure what to watch? Our easy-to-use and customisable Smart Hub platform gives you tailored recommendations.

As with all of Samsung’s high-end TVs, the S95B supports the HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG formats of high dynamic range, but not Dolby Vision. It’s a pity Samsung’s TV division can’t join its soundbar division in burying the hatchet (or whatever it needs to do) with Dolby over Dolby Vision, but it doesn’t look like the situation is going to change any time soon.

Retested the TV's HDR and SDR brightness on firmware 1520 and updated the HDR Brightness, HDR Brightness in Game Mode and SDR Brightness text boxes with the results. The same goes for how the S95B handles tone mapping for HDR video games. Presently, it seems its tone mapping can not be defeated, which can make the HDR calibration feature built into the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 a bit difficult to get dialed in properly — it’s easy to wind up with a washed-out picture if care is not taken. Our take Voices sound believable and clear, too, and unlike Samsung’s Mini-LED and regular LED TVs, its sound seems to push forward into your room, rather than sounding squeezed between the screen and the wall behind it. Not that this makes the S95B QD-OLED in any way a relic. When it comes to shared features, these OLED TVs cover many of the same basics. Both panels have four HDMI 2.1 ports, with the S95B supporting 4K up to 120Hz and the S95C going one step further by supporting a 4K signal up to 144Hz. I was initially unable to perform our standard input lag measurements with an HDFury Diva HDMI matrix due to testing conditions at Samsung's facility. Instead, I measured lag using the Leo Bodnar 1080p Video Signal Input Lag Tester. I recorded 9.4 milliseconds in its Game mode, just below the 10ms threshold we use to declare a TV to be among the best for gaming.

The default Standard preset is a much better combination of aggression and consistency - but still suffers with a few issues you should tweak. The default motion processing is overly aggressive, for starters, causing too many unwanted side effects. So you’ll need to set this to Custom and reduce the Judder and/or Blur Reduction elements considerably to get more natural results. Fittingly for a TV that’s using a new generation of panel technology, the S95B looks seriously futuristic. Its screen is extraordinarily thin - about the equivalent of a couple of credit cards sat on top of each other. It’s probably the skinniest TV we’ve seen since LG’s ‘Wallpaper’ OLED TVs, in fact. The insanely thin design of the new model, though, does still limit the amount of bass the TV can achieve without distorting, and the design still struggles to deliver a sense of forward-facing impact versus some of the best-sounding TVs out there, despite the welcome extra power. Smart features are provided by Samsung’s latest Tizen interface, which delivers a complete revamp of the system found on Samsung’s 2021 models. The quantity of apps supported on this new Tizen iteration continues to be exemplary, including all the big hitting streaming services bar Freeview Play (though all of the catch-up apps for the UK’s main terrestrial broadcasters are supported individually). For any content that you submit, you grant SAMSUNG a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully transferable right and license to use, copy, modify, delete in its entirety, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from and/or sell and/or distribute such content and/or incorporate such content into any form, medium or technology throughout the world without compensation to you.

Performance

While there’s no one-size-fits-all when buying a new TV, we often find that 55-inch screens are an excellent fit for many living rooms – giving you immersive viewing experiences for family movie nights, catching up with your latest streaming obsession after the kids have gone to bed or hosting a gathering with friends to watch sports.

Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. (Image credit: Future/TechRadar) Samsung has revamped its Tizen-based Smart TV interface for 2022 - and on current form, I wish it hadn’t, honestly.

The S95B’s brightness advantage over standard OLED technology applies across the whole screen as well as to smallish bright highlights. In fact, its full screen brightness advantage is more pronounced than the peak brightness benefit. Sun-drenched scenes and brightly lit interiors clearly appear with more vibrancy and punch on Samsung’s QD OLED debutante. The Samsung S95C OLED TV boasts an extremely impressive 32% brightness increase over last year’s S95B. (Image credit: TechRadar/Future) Samsung S95C vs Samsung S95B: Price, sizes and availability The red of Deadpool's costume in the cool, overcast opening scene of Deadpool looks natural (neither purple-tinged nor undersaturated). Later, in the burning lab scene, the flames show varying hues of yellows and oranges; the TV displays the full highlights of the fire and preserves all the textures. Shadow details also come through clearly in the darker parts of frames.
