Ty Templeton’s cover for Batman: The Adventures Continue – Season Three #8 pays tribute to the cover of 1992’s The Batman Adventures #1, also drawn by Templeton. The Batman Adventures was the first of DC Comics’ many Batman: The Animated Series tie-in titles. The Christmas Party was okay, but overall it didn't need to be there. Wesker is one of the most interesting and tragic characters in the show. I remember watching the first episode as a child featuring Wesker and his puppet and it both intrigued and scared me because I didn't understand. Once I grew up and learned about mental illness-Oh Wow!! Not only did I finally understand the episode I realized how sad Wesker is. Thankfully, the TV series gave Wesker a happy ending. ..........the TV series. In other words, this Christmas new beginning story for Wesker was useless. It already happened. What's up Burnett? Mr. Dini? This cost ya a gold star. DC Comics has released the final covers for Batman: The Adventures Continue – Season Three #8, which will be available in print and digital starting Oct. 3, 2023. The issue, which has four separate covers, not only concludes the third volume of the popular Batman:The Animated Series sequel comic, but is also the finale to the “three season” series. Hardware" (Digital Issues 1–2, Print Issue 1): When a seven-stories-tall robot steals salvageable alien tech from Wayne Enterprises (including the remains of the computer tyrant Brainiac), Batman finds himself matching wits against business rival Lex Luthor. These eight issues bring in some characters we never got to see during the original run, like Deathstroke, Azrael, and Jason Todd, with little twists on them to fit them into the DCAU. Most of these work well enough, and the Jason Todd plot especially feels like a good payoff since it threads its way through the earlier issues before becoming the main focus. There's also a story featuring Superman and Lex Luthor, so it seems DC are allowing writers Paul Dini and Alan Burnett (both of whom were heavily involved in BTAS originally) to use as much of the DCAU as they want. I don't think it necessarily undoes any of what came before (or what will come), but it lessens the impact for me. Jason Todd is revealed to have been the second Robin all along and meets a similar fate to his original counterpart in being beaten half to death and then blown up by the Joker, believed to be dead, only to show up later as the Red Hood.

It is a very different take on the tale but the basics are still there and that brought down my enjoyment a bit. It didn't have that wow factor because I knew the basic outcome of the story.Secret Santa" is a one-issue (tw0 digital issues) storyline that has The Ventriloquist released from Arkham Asylum right before the December holiday season. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy invite other criminals to a holiday party at The Iceberg Lounge. This really does feel like a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series thanks in no small part to Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, who were both integral to the show. There are a few ongoing story-lines as well as a couple of stand-alones, so it works nicely. Batman: The Adventures Continue (2020-) #3". ComiXology. Archived from the original on May 19, 2020 .
