This nursing bra is the absolute BEST for breastfeeding at night. It’s super comfortable and made of the softest material ever. You’ll want to wear it forever to sleep in, even after you’re done breastfeeding. A correct formula to water ratio is so important. Over-concentrated and diluted formula can both cause major health problems for your baby. When you’re ready to bottle or pitcher prep, wash your hands and prep your bottles, nipples, and your pitcher, if using one, to be sure they are clean and sterile. 3 Mixing the baby formula

This savvy method also ensures that any excess milk gets frozen pronto, saving all those precious nutrients. I pump and combine for 3 days then freeze in 3oz increments. I have the Dr. Browns pitcher and it makes it 1000x easier to pour and measure. I just pump and pour into the container.” Talk about crying over spilled milk! One clumsy moment could result in a spill disaster, robbing you of your hard-earned liquid gold. Using a formula pitcher is also a great way to prepare your baby’s formula for the entire day. Instead of going through the whole mixing routine every few hours, you simply pull the formula pitcher from the fridge and fill a new bottle with perfectly mixed formula. Mix baby formula without clumping So, grab this pitcher, pour in that liquid gold, and take a well-deserved break from the bottle juggling madness.

Easy measuring: Allows you to pour the exact amount of formula you need for each bottle (great for babies who drink an odd # of ounces or babies who have a different amount each time!). Like I said above- I would put milk from Monday’s 7 pm pump through Tuesday’s 3 pm pump into the same pitcher. Because I wanted to go to bed ASAP after baby went to bed instead of waiting for the 7 pm milk to cool. So I always had multiple days milk together. But it was never a problem because at the end of every day I made the bottlesfor the next day and then froze the rest, so milk is never in the fridge for more than 2 days with that system.

Clumps in your baby’s formula usually occur from rushed formula preparation. You’re in such a rush to get a bottle prepared for your hungry baby that you don’t mix the formula and water properly. Halfway through the feed, the nipple gets clogged with a clump, and you have to interrupt feeding time to fix it or attach a new nipple. But at least you can do it all in one fell swoop, without having to rummage through your fridge like a mad scientist. So in my fridge at all times, I had all the bottles for the day and a pitcher being filled with milk for the next day (plus the bottles from my most recent pump that were also in the fridge cooling down, waiting to be added to the pitcher). NEVER combine different temperature milk. If you’re mixing with a pitcher, make sure you are using the correct amounts of powder and water for the amount of formula you need to make. Last thing is that you definitely CAN combine milk from multiple days into one pitcher. Just remember that milk is good in the fridge for about 3 days. And you have to count from the day of the earliest milk in the pitcher. So if I have milk from Monday and Tuesday in a pitcher or bottles- I need to use it all by Wednesday. If I don’t- no problem! Then I just need to freeze it on Wednesday.

However, these pitchers have mixing “blades” inside of them that mix infant formula without leaving clumps or lumps.Formula pitchers let parents and caregivers prepare an entire day’s worth of formula at once. They can save time and ensure your formula is properly mixed, no matter who’s in charge of baby’s feedings. Benefits of using a formula pitcher To use the formula mixing pitcher, you simply measure out the proportions of baby formula and water for the amount of servings you want. Add them both to the pitcher, water first, then formula (believe me on that point after my own trial and error—it won’t be as smooth). You put the special lid on with the stirring mechanism intact, then once in place, pump up and down. The center piece (the “blade” as the brand calls it) mixes the baby formula evenly into the water, making the perfect consistency for your babe to drink, with minimal formula bubbles ( which can sometimes cause gas in babies).

The pitcher method might not be for everyone, but for those looking to simplify their lives and organize their milk in style, it's definitely worth a try. Handle your pitcher with care, and always make sure to label it with the date of the oldest milk to avoid any confusion. I did the pitcher method and it was SO helpful. I bought 2 pitchers, and essentially whatever I pumped that day was the next day’s milk. So I pumped, put caps on the bottles that I pumped into and just popped those into the fridge to cool down to fridge temperature. Then whenever I had a a minute and the bottles were cool, I would just swirl them and then dump them into the pitcher. At the end of the day, I would fill up all of the next days bottles and leave them in the fridge. So all of the bottles for the next day were made and waiting in the fridge. Then I would put an leftover milk from the pitcher into freezer bags and then wash the pitcher. Since I was filling up the pitchers a day ahead, this always worked really easily. So, to make it more clear, at the end of each day, in the fridge I had all of the baby bottles filled for the next day and an empty and cleaned pitcher ready to fill up throughout the next day. This was easiest for me because I could do all of the bottle filling and pitcher cleaning after the baby went down to sleep, and had all the bottles done for the next day and a clean pitcher ready to go before going to sleep myself.

Price: This is one of the most cost-effective baby products around, particularly with regard to cost for value. Just kidding, at the end of the day, or whenever your container is full, you prepare the next day's feeding bottles using the milk collected.Using a formula pitcher lets you mix a larger batch of formula, up to 24 hours in advance, which you can pour into a bottle in the middle of the night. It saves time, and keeps your baby from getting wrongly mixed formula when you’re too tired to think straight.
