Take care of your shoes by repairing them or replacing them regularly. Worn-out soles typically are not very good at cushioning your feet. Also if you notice that the soles or heels of your shoes tend to wear unevenly, you might want to talk to a chiropodist or podiatrist about corrective shoes or insoles.

Removal method: There are two main ways to remove dead skin when it comes to callus removers. Mechanical or manual methods involve physically removing dead cells with the use of abrasive tools such as foot files, scrubs, and pumice stones. On the other hand, chemical methods include topical creams, gels, and peels that use active ingredients to induce the shedding of skin layers. Slight burning, skin redness, and peeling may occur. These effects are expected. If any of these effects worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Tea tree oil is an antibacterial, antifungal, and natural antiseptic. Place a few drops of tea tree oil in a basin full of warm water, and soak your callus until you feel the skin begin to soften and lift. Don’t soak in this remedy for more than 15 minutes, as the tea tree oil is very strong and can damage your skin layer if you’re exposed to it for too long. Keep your ankle, Achilles tendon, and calf muscle flexible by stretching your plantar fascia daily. Wear correctly fitting shoes with toe boxes that are high and wide enough to allow your toes to spread.

Refrain from using sharp objects to cut big chunks of callus since injury may occur and lead to bleeding and/or infection. Calluses don’t usually hurt and are most often found on your heels, palms, toes, and knees. Wearing tight-fitting shoes, walking barefoot, playing instruments, and working with your hands are common causes of calluses.Limit yourself as much as possible from wearing shoes that alter your weight distribution such as high-heeled or high-arched shoes. If your job requires you to wear this type of shoe, try to take some of the pressure off your feet by walking to and from the office in well-fitting, comfortable shoes or trainers. Try to decrease heel height as much as possible. If you are going to have an MRI test, tell testing personnel if you are using the patch. Some patches may contain metals that can cause serious burns during an MRI. Ask your doctor whether you will need to remove your patch before the test and apply a new patch afterward, and how to do so properly. Before using salicylic acid, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs- NSAIDs (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen); or if you have any other allergies.
