Description

As Space Marines, Blood Angels employ Combat Doctrines, which grant them improved AP with certain weapons depending on the doctrine that’s active. The contents of this set provides you with an ideal force of Blood Angels for Combat Patrol-sized games, including approximately 25 Power Level’s worth of miniatures. This incredible collection of units allows for you to get creative and paint even the finest details found on these miniatures. We highly recommend using both Citadel brushes and paints to get the best possible outcome. There is a huge variety of vibrant paints that have all been designed specifically for Warhammer painting and to suit all needs. Simply choose your painting method and get started as painting adds to the fun of the Warhammer hobby. Once primed and ready, let the battle commence! Blood Angels lore is expansive. They werefirst detailed in the second edition Space Marines Codex Angels of Death, and their story has expanded in codexes and some of the best Warhammer 40k books ever since, not to mention comics like Bloodquest, and some of the oldest Warhammer 40k games on computer (anyonereading old enough to remember Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels?)

An Interdiction Force often fights at the forefront of a major Space Marine assault. Comprising multiple Vanguard units and supporting armour, they emerge from concealed positions to engage the enemy at close range while their battle-brothers follow up behind them to move into position. Rules for units that are only available to the Blood Angels Chapter and their successors – including 18 datasheets I love Dreadnoughts. The two Redemptors – which were some of the most fun models in the army to paint – are joined by three Invictor Warsuits and a pair of Leviathan Dreadnoughts. One was inspired by Andy Wardle’s Ultramarines Leviathan** and made from a Custodes Telemon Dreadnought . I painted the other in the Death Company style. Speaking of which… In our How to Paint Everything series, we take a look at different armies of the Warhammer universe, examine their history and heraldry, and look at several different methods for painting them. This week, we’re looking at the Blood Angels, everyone’s favourite Renaissance goth space vampires. The Blood Angels Who are the Blood Angels?

T’au Empire – Starpulse Cadre

Many Space Marines engage in rituals involving the consumption of blood and flesh. These rituals derive, in part, from the battlefield role that flesh consumption plays for Space Marines, who can absorb the memories of fallen enemies by consuming their flesh. It may be a deformity in the organ that grants this ability, the Osmophagea, that tauntsthe Blood Angels with their sinister hunger. If you manage to get your hands on all these options, you’ll have a really nice core for a new Blood Angels army. This should put you in the 2k ballpark and you’ll be able to get some games in. Again, all of these units are good options to have but from here, it’s going to come down to personal preference. You’re going to need to “season” your army to the flavor you like. See what works for you, see what works in your local meta (if you can actually PLAY in stores or with a gaming club) and then adjust.

After painting some Phobos units and Impulsors , I added Outrider bikes and Invader ATVs . Next in the painting queue are two Storm Speeders and a Gladiator tank , all of which I’ll paint in the same camo scheme. Ah, the Blood Angels– noble and civilised sons of Sanguinius, most handsome, tragic, star-crossed and pretty of all the Emperor’s ‘Primarch’ sons. These renaissance Italy-themed space marines are among the most storied and popular chapters of the Adeptus Astartes. Airbrush shadows with VMA Dark Sea Blue, and highlights with White. I use Liquitex Acrylic Ink, as I find it gives me much smoother transitions than any traditional white paint. As well as a plethora of special characters – old favourites Commander Dante, Mephiston, Corbulo, Captain Tycho, and Lemartes, and the newer boys Astorath the Grim and the Sanguinor – Blood Angels are also the only chapter which can take Librarian Dreadnoughts, Furioso Dreadnoughts, Baal Predators, Death Company Dreadnoughts, regular Death Company, Sanguinary Guard, and Sanguinary Priests. They lose a little for all this – no Centurions and no Thunderfire Cannon – but otherwise, this is a bunch of cool stuff (maybe not the Baal Predators). They also have their own psychic lore, the Sanguinary Discipline, and their own relics, Warlord traits, and stratagems.

Company Details

This would be perfect with the Librarian as you could replace his shoulder pad with the Character upgrade (with a little bit of hobby work). Also, I’m curious if we’re going to see any other options for the Blood Angels in the Combat Patrol. The Space Wolves Combat Patrol allowed for players to build the new Hounds of Morkai unit as an alternative option. Perhaps we’ll see an option for an alternate Blood Angels unit, too.

Spread the word of the Greater Good with this Starpulse Cadre. It features several units that are ideal for inclusion in any T’au Empire force, whether you’re starting a new army or adding to an existing one, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. This all changed with the discovery of Sanguinius. Living in the blasted hellscape of Baal, Sanguinius had united the humans of Baal against the mutant tribes who warred with them. Upon meeting the Emperor he immediately bent the knee, and took command of the IXth. It didn’t take him long to find that the Legion modelled on his gene heritage had a ferocious history, and seemed to be losing themselves ever more to horror. Sanguinius’ great project was to reshape his Legion in his own image, turning them from savage killers into the noble warrior-artists which will be better known to 40k players. Wash the model with a matte coat of Agrax Earthshade. I apply this liberally since I like my shadows deep and I can always clean up any overflow later with more Mephiston Red.Paint the lower half of the eye lenses, the gun sights, and all the edges of the purity seals with Warpstone Glow. Grundstok Gunhaulers – fast airships armed with aethermatic weapons ideal for providing heavy fire support to your forces. Tzaangor Enlightened – champions of Tzeentch who use their discs to get into combat at incredible speeds. These can also be built as lethal long-ranged Tzaangor Skyfires. Paint all silver parts of the model with Leadbelcher. Wash these sections with Nuln Oil. Highlight all the edges of the armor with Evil Sunz Scarlet. Kairic Acolytes – the frontline troops of the Disciples of Tzeentch, dangerous at any range and capable of offering magical support. Each can be equipped with a choice of weapons, and the kit comes with a variety of accessories for personalising and upgrading your models.
