The fourth volume of Chainsaw Man continues the battle between Denji and those who tried to eliminate all of Special Division 4. Per some interpretations, they are thought to be referenced in the Old Testament's prophetic Book of Zechariah and in Ezekiel.

The Four Horsemen are based, in name and concept, on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse ( Japanese: 黙 ( もく ) 示 ( し ) 録 ( ろく ) の 四 ( よん ) 騎 ( き ) 士 ( し ) , Mokushiroku no Yonkishi ? Makima is also shaping up to be a badass character that manages to be extremely cunning and intimidating in every scene she appears in. After being killed on a job, Denji is revived by his pet devil-dog Pochita and becomes something new and dangerousChainsaw Man! Yoru, the War Devil, intends to find Pochita and battle him again so as to slay him, in a seeming revenge plot for him eating part of her (plus other Devils that contributed to War's power, like the WWII and Nuclear Weapons Devils), [13] [14] [15] [25] [16] while avoiding her sisters (or at least Fami) in the process.I say that because he seems laid-back and carefree… probably because he loves to drink and is, most likely, drunk all of the time. Together, the Horsemen sisters are known to have engaged in a particularly brutal battle in Hell against the Devil feared most by other Devils: "Chainsaw Man" (aka Pochita).
