If you have spotted ethylhexylglycerin on the ingredient list, most probably you will see there also the current IT-preservative, phenoxyethanol. It just gives you less grief 😛 Thanks for reading anyway, and I hope you find it useful, even if I tend to bash Korean makeup a lot lOL! Not only does this eye cream brighten up those nasty dark circles but the silicone nib used for application is perfect for your eye area. It blends without being streaky, and it’s easy to apply, drying down to a semi-matte finish without settling into lines. To achieve this, most CC creams contain skincare ingredients and SPF with varying degrees of coverage, from tinted moisturiser level to a potential replacement for your foundation.

Apply Bourjois' 123 Perfect Colour Correcting cream onto the centre of your face and blend outwards towards the jawline. So, they blend an apricot shade for anti-fatigue, green for anti-redness and white for anti-dark spots, along with a healthy dose of hydration to keep your skin from drying out. Coverage is pretty decent (this was with very little product) for a CC Cream, which is why I say it’s as good as wearing foundation. Designed to correct redness and pigmentation, Cargo’s offering contains vitamins, antioxidants, hydrators and natural skin calmers, such as Green Tea and Chamomile Extract. The texture is a thick cream (reminds me of Laura Mercier Crème Smooth) and applies well with fingers or a brush. I’m really impressed by the texture and radiance inducing powers of this and although I’m not brave enough to wear it alone, I’ve been using it as a base - either under foundation or one of the other CC formulas. I'm just a bit worried about how well it'll last on my oily skin so I may have to look up a few more reviews before I decide whether to give it a go! It just does its job of being a colour correcting base very well, and that's what I want in a base for daily use.

It is also the most commonly used "base" material for layered composite pigments such as pearl-effect pigments. Here it is on the face, above Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer, without setting powder, in natural light, applied with a damp Beautyblender. For working mom with kids, or just a lazy morning, or if you’re like me who actually waits for my skincare to sink in… a multi-tasking cream is a God’s blessing. It only protects against UVB and not UVA rays (the 320-400 nm range) – so always choose products that contain other sunscreens too.If you are into chemistry (if not, we understand, just skip this paragraph), the reason is that electrolytes (you know, the Na+ and Cl- ions) screen the electrostatic repulsion between the head groups of ionic surfactants and thus support the formation of long shaped micelles (instead of spherical ones) that entangle like spaghetti, and viola, a gel is formed. In general terms, where BB stood for Blemish Balm (officially; some labelled it Beauty Balm), CC stands for Colour Corrector - which means addressing redness, sallowness and so on - for a more even toned complexion. In fact, it’s been around for quite a while, but because I move at a glacial pace in the blogging world, this is relatively new to me.
