The island delicacy of Louza is a tasty cold cut consisting of thin slices of spiced, cooked pork. It’s dried in the winter sun and marinated with spices. Mykonos sausages are typically sun-dried, rather than smoked, and they’re prized on the island. Traditionally, the sausages are prepared with salt, oregano, pepper and spices. p>A Local’s Guide to the Best of Mykonos, in 12 Photos, Bloomberg.com, May 2018

Elia has the longest beach, while around the coast is Platis Gialos, a popular resort with a good number of Mykonos hotels on the beach on Booking.com. Glass-bottomed boats departing from here give great views of local sealife.p>‘MYKONOS MUSE’ PHOTO BOOK TRANSPORTS YOU TO GREECE’S FABLED PARTY ISLAND; By: Jared Paul Stern, Villa88 (Middle East), October 2021

Preparations for Christmas enliven Hora. This is a family holiday, and decorations are muted compared to destinations depending on holiday tourism. Note that gifts are not traditionally exchanged on December 25th, but rather at the New Year. Expect crisp sunny days punctuated by squalls. Most people visit Mykonos at the peak of summer, and in July and August every taverna and club is open and filled with raucous, partying crowds. But many visitors prefer the months before and after high season, when most everything is open but less overheated – whether it’s the weather or the dance floors. Alright, diving straight into the Mykonos weather scene! 🌞 When you talk Mykonos, you're basically signing up for the kind of sunshine that's the envy of, well, everywhere. Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Lux Mykonos house is set in Agios Stefanos. This recently renovated holiday home is located 2 km from Tourlos Beach and 2.5 km from Agios Stefanos Beach. The holiday home also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests.

Snap your own postcard-perfect image of the famous Mykonos windmills. Built in the 16th century by the Venetians to mill wheat, they're perfectly clustered together on a hill overlooking the harbour. Every restaurant on this list has been selected independently by our editors and written by a Condé Nast Traveller journalist who knows the destination and has eaten at that restaurant. When choosing restaurants, our editors consider both high end and affordable eateries that offer an authentic and insider experience of a destination. We're always looking for stand-out dishes, a great location and warm service – as well as serious sustainability credentials. We update this list regularly as new restaurants open and existing ones evolve. Best restaurants in Mykonos The prize exhibit in the Archaeological Museum in Mykonos Town is a large jar or pithos from the 7th century BC, covered with comic strip-style scenes from the fall of Troy, including the oldest known depiction of the Trojan horse. Surprisingly, the jar is fitted out with aeroplane windows, each revealing a Greek warrior ready to be wheeled into Troy and wreak havoc. The vases in the museum are equally vivid, many showing creatures out of Greek mythology; there’s also a fine marble headless Hercules, and poignant funeral reliefs. From May to September, it's the prime time to soak in those rays. The weather in Mykonos hangs confidently between 25°C to 30°C, serving up the kind of consistency we all need in our lives. And hey, those Meltemi winds popping by in July and August? They're nature's little reminder to cool off – and maybe reapply that sunscreen. Always lookin' out for you, right? 😉 One of the most romantic places in Mykonos, Little Venice features a picturesque cluster of Venetian buildings on the waterfront, winding streets and an atmospheric dining scene. You can still fully enjoy Mykonos in October. Although the famous DJs have moved on, the bars and big beach clubs in Hora are still partying until the early hours. The water remains swimmable, and you can get a seat in top tavernas without booking. November p>Mykonos Muse, le livre qui donne envie de partir en Grèce cet été, Vogue France, April 2018
