What's the difference between a commercial feeder rod and an all-round or natural venue feeder rod? A comprehensive range of rods that are perfect for any commercial fishing as well as natural waters. Seamless actions and high quality components make them unbeatable value for money. There is a rod in the range for any situation whether its underarming a method feeder in the margin or long range casting on a big reservoir. Each feeder rod is supplied with two carbon tips, 1oz & 2oz. Overall though, each version of the rod is very solid and you should have no problem casting with any of them in commercial fisheries and small lakes, etc. Quality Through action: A rod that has a softer top section but still produces a cushioned bend throughout its entire length, giving a good fish-playing action.

Most commercial fishery feeder rods are designed with a progressive fish playing that bends at the tip and 'powers up' along the blank as more pressure is exerted, and ideal for carp. All-round feeder rods tend to have softer 'through' or 'cushioned parabolic' fish playing actions ideal for all species of silver fish. However, since the rod is nearly entirely made from rare materials, it is incredibly expensive. Costing several hundred pounds makes the Tournament SLR difficult to recommend to most people. It is undoubtedly and phenomenal rod and arguably the best feeder rod in production. However, it costs a lot of money, and unless you’re a serious match fisherman who’s trying a gain a competitive edge or someone who simply wants the best rod available, its difficult to justify the price. Fighting/General Usage For budget rods they really are the business. They feel light to hold (to me anyway) have a good action and will bend all the way through when it comes to it (which you can see from the Preston adverts for them) and really power up when the bigger boys try to charge off. Best Method Feeder Rod - Preston Innovations Monster X 11ft Carp Feeder - View offer on Fishing Republic Now, there’s no denying that graphite-built rods (basically a mixture of carbon and glass fibre) have superbly cushioned fish-playing characteristics, especially in the shorter 9ft, 10ft and 11ft lengths.Well, what can I say? The Ignition rod fired up faster than a Merlin engine and hurled the bomb straight on to the mark, which impressed me greatly! The 9ft model is suited to casts up to 25 metres, the 10ft model 40 metres and the longer 11ft option capable of been fished up and around the 50-metre mark. Casting Weight: 40g – Transport Length: 155cm – Weight: 169g – Handle Length: 54cm – Line rating: 4-10lb – Sections: 2

Casting Weight: 50g – Transport Length: 170cm – Weight: 192g – Handle Length: 57cm – Line rating: 4-10lb – Sections: 2 There’s no doubt that this rod is an excellent feeder but it wouldn’t be our first recommendation to new anglers. Its a bit more pricey than some of the other rods and although it compensates through its incredible technology and features, its something that we feel a lot of anglers may not use. That much I’d already been told through reading the blurb, but to confirm these claims I treated myself to a day’s live testing of the 10ft short feeder rod on Decoy Lakes Fishery near Peterborough.

The Daiwa N'Zon feeder is one of the best feeder fishing rods, especially when fishing for small to medium-sized fish in rivers and streams. It has a thin, lightweight pole that makes it easy to carry, but it can still hold relatively large feeders without a hitch. Quiver tip: The very top (often brightly coloured) section of a feeder rod, used to identify bites, which bends and 'quivers' when a fish moves off with the bait. Like the test curve of a rod, quiver tips are often rated in test curves measured in ounces. The Middy Arco-tech range has very clever engineering at the tip of the rods, they come equipped with something called “trigger tips” which are much softer than the tips you would usually find on a feeder rod. The thinking behind this is that the softer the tips the better hook up the rate you get, we’re not entirely sure about this but it’s the explanation behind the trigger tips. The car’s temperature gauge was showing it was only 50C out there, and to me it was even duller than another weekend without match fishing, football without a proper crowd, or the basic bloke necessity of going down the pub! Reel Seat: The part of the handle that your reel attaches to. Almost all UK coarse rods have screw-down reel seats, where the fore-grip on the handle rotates and closes the seat to hold the reel in place.
