Totally off topic and maybe even superstitious, but my Matriarch's sync freaks out when I have modular clock and usb midi plugged in, this could be a similar type of witchcraft at play. Each step has graduated lighting; the higher the modulation value, the stronger the button lights up to give you a clear visual on what’s going on in the sequence. A single Mod output is fine for CV but perhaps a bit lacking over MIDI, because you’re most likely to use it for velocity which leaves you with no other modulation possibilities.
