Mix lotion into rubbery slime to make it stretchy again. Squeeze 1 squirt of moisturizing lotion onto slime that has lost its stretch. Knead it in with your hands to mix it in. Mix in more lotion, 1 squirt at a time, until the slime is as stretchy as you want it. [1] X Research source Store the slime in a zip-top plastic bag to keep it moist. Put the slime in a sealable bag when you aren’t playing with it. Squeeze out the air and close the zip-top to prevent it from drying out. [8] X Research source Anyone that has ever made slime knows that it will not turn out without an activator. There are several options to use as a slime activator and you can use the one you prefer. If you used measurements for borax, it should work. As for saline solution, it’s commonly used in fluffy slime. I’ve used it with shaving cream, which actually makes the saline solution work. The only thing I don’t know is the eye drops, but I’m pretty sure you need shaving cream for that as well. I’ve personally given up on these activators because they contain boran, which can irritate the skin and cause fertility problems. I would suggest activators without boran in it. If you read this far, that’s amazing. I wouldn’t have done that XD Store the slime in an airtight container or bag to make it last a long time. You can either buy an activator for slime or make your own. And the good news, is making your own is incredibly easy and only requires two ingredients.My kids love to make slime, but you need to know the best slime activators. This is the key to any basic slime recipe and a must have ingredient. Moisten dried-out slime with warm water. Hold dried-out slime under warm running water or dunk it in a bowl of warm water for 1 second at a time, then play with the slime in your hands to mix the water in. Repeat this as many times as needed until the slime becomes moist and stretchy again.

You’re using clear glue instead of white glue. When making clear slime, you want to add equal parts water to the glue prior to adding the activator, otherwise there is too much activator and it immediately solidifies as you have described. Slime activator is a liquid solution that you mix into glue or other slime bases to make it into slime. The activator reacts with the ingredients to make it all stretchy and slimy. If you want to make slime, you’re going to need a slime activator. This is what the makes the slime… well, slime. Most slimes, other than edible slime, require an activator to take all the ingredients and make them into the stretchy and gooey material you know and love as slime. Then you can make all types, including the classic green slime, see through crystal clear slime, this gorgeous gold slime, or unique color changing slime, cloud slime, snow slime, and fluffy slime.Note: You may need to add more Sta-Flo brand starch to your slime than Lin-It brand. Our stores carry Lin-It brand so are recipes are based on that specific brand which may be stronger than the other brand. This is our number one favorite slime activator because it makes the most awesome stretchy slime. It’s also more easily available for UK, Australian and Canadian residents. Boric acid is generally not found in a cleaning supply type of product as it is a preservative. It is specific to drops you put in your eyes as opposed to rinsing lenses. A slime activator is one of the slime ingredients needed for the chemical reaction that takes place to form slime. The other important piece is PVA Glue. In case you’re curious, chemically what’s happening is cross-bonds are forming within the PVA when the borax is added. And even more scientifically speaking, it’s the boron within Borax that’s causing the reaction. You are correct that none of these are truly borax free and contain borons. I would love to hear what other activators you want to try! Eye drops also contain boric acid. The only way to get the signature slime is with a boron activator. However, we have some alternative slime recipes and edible slimes to try! The texture of course is not quite the same. Stir in 3 drops of food coloring if you want to make colored slime. Pour in 3 drops of food coloring of your choice. Mix it in thoroughly to color the slime dough.
