Being more than one is really hard in many ways and provides so much trouble for me in many areas of my life. But when it comes to work, it also permits me to work long, concentrated hours. I can compartmentalize experiences so that when I'm working I won't even consider other things. I'm incredibly productive as a result, as I can even compartmentalize pain, hunger and tiredness, further increasing the amount of work that I can do.

The Seventh Horseman: A mysterious person who appears as a soldier dressed in grey, riding a horse, they warn the others of danger and seem to provide a fantasy of rescue. The Seventh Horseman also does not appear to identify as any gender. Arc Words: "For you, there isn't any more" — the Troops often say this to the woman. "It won't be long now" — the stepfather used to say this and the Troops regard it as a loathsome phrase. Chase chose not to integrate her identities into one integrated whole, and instead chose to welcome her parts into a cooperating team. In her book, she describes giving talks to convicted child molesters to explain her abuse history and to warn them of the psychology devastation that child abuse inflicts upon its victims. [3] Our book "Which One Am I?" is about my husband Darrell's life with DID and we do quote "When Rabbit Howls." Of the DID memoirs I read researching our own story and the history of DID in society as Darrell was growing up, "Rabbit" is probably the best representatiion of what it is like to experience DID. Calling the Old Man Out: At the end of the novel, the Troops arrive en masse on the Stepfather's doorstep, in their own bodies, to deal out their revenge. Turns out it was All Just a Dream, or rather All Just A Story written by elder Troop member Ean and read lovingly to the Children.

Daily Dose

Badass and Child Duo: Mean Joe and Lambchop. Joe watches over all the children with tender, loving care. Once I had resolved to just read and decide how I felt about it later, it was completely engrossing. My heart went out to Truddi and " the woman" and Elvira, and Lamb Chop, and I adored Twelve and Miss Wonderful, and Mean Joe. I hated the stepfather and although I know in my head that it would be wrong to kill him, I am not positive that I would not have done it, myself. I was also continually impressed by Dr. Phillips' kindness and acceptance and willingness to understand. That is not something you can learn in Psych 101. If he wasn't born with that kind of understanding, he worked and sweated and suffered to earn it. As a story, it held my attention. There seems to be some unwritten rule that stories about obscure illnesses, true crime and cults have to be made into really bad tv movies. I think this is a real shame. Stories such as these would make great 'real' movies, especially if they were put into competent hands. The Big Guy: Mean Joe Green, although his imposing presence is strictly mental; people do sense it, and he can be very intimidating until you get to know him.

I find it rather odd to read such unflattering comments about Long's performance. Personally speaking I would say if anyone ever had any doubts about Long's capacity as an actor they should see this film. Her portrayal was/is simply stunning. A stark departure from more predictable / typical roles but Long shines here to an amazing degree. I wish the film was available on DVD / Video so I could share this with my film buff friends. The film itself may warrant criticism but Long's performance makes all that pale into insignificance. Yes - a very untypical role for Long which in itself enhances her performance. Cooperation" is a term I hadn't heard before in this context. Thank you! If there is a second edition of our book, we'll certainly make note. It seems the terminology keeps changing. It's so hard to keep up. Rachel: A teenage girl similar to Sixteen, she is a young woman with enough sexual knowledge "to run a bordello."Lambchop: Often calls herself Lamb Chop or Lamchop, she is a tiny child; as with all the children, she's under the protection of Mean Joe. It's got nothing to do with god, but the power of my own mind. I have to save me, no one else can do it for me.” Grace the Zombie: She appears when the system is overwhelmed; she is perpetually calm to the point of appearing zombie-like. Her name Grace is from "grace under pressure". Ean: Claims to be (and certainly behaves like) the spirit of an ancient Irish warrior and hinted (by Dr. Phillips) to be a vestige of one of Truddi's past lives, he is a wise storyteller and a source of strength and encouragement for the others. The Troops use a Funetik Aksent to convey his speech pattern and cadence. In my experience you won't learn that from watching and/or reading of others' experience, sensationalized to sell or not.
