Description

A collection of wintery crime and mystery stories by thirteen of the most exciting and diverse authors in children's books today! Co-edited by Serena Patel, the award-winning author of the Anisha: Accidental Detective series and by Robin Stevens, author of the bestselling Murder Most Unladylike series. This book (physically) is so so so pretty! But the contents were less so and I feel bad even writing this. Hello Detectives! There’s just ONE MONTH TO GO until the second book in my new series, The Body in the Blitz, is published!

I know I will try to read it when I have finished Arsenic for tea. My favourite are Mistletoe and Murder, Jolly Foul Play and A spoon scum of Murder!!😀😀 Sleuthing through the snow, on a merry mysterious day, in disguise we go, investigating all the way . . . I feel mean rating this so poorly as I am not the target audience but I don't think most of these stories lived up to the promise of festive childlike mysteries. Many of them had annoying characters and boring plots and I only finished it for a book club where most were in agreement. Hello Detectives! Robin here. I’m still away on leave until February, but I couldn’t forget that today is a very special day – publication for the anthology of short stories I co-edited, The Very Merry Murder Club!Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing -

There are secrets hidden beneath the ice . . . bring the magic home in the frosty fourth instalment of the bestselling Pinch of Magic Adventures, from the award-winning Michelle Harrison. This looks really cool! I’ll definitely buy it as soon as it comes out. I think I’ve heard of Dominique Valente, though I can’t remember where from. This time around I’ve not been able to contribute a story to the collection (I’ve got a lot of projects I’m working on at the moment that meant I just didn’t have enough time to write something else) – but I’m very happy to step aside and be your introduction to 13 authors you may not have come across before.About Abiola Bello, Annabelle Sami, Benjamin Dean, E. L. Norry, Maisie Chan, Roopa Farooki, Nizrana Farook, Patrice Lawrence, Joanna W I loved the illustrations, there style was just so much fun, though I just wish there were more of them and not just one per story. Haha.

My favourite story was certainly the first - a proper murder mystery with clues and a crime to solve. Plus the lead was autistic and that helped her as she noticed things other didn't. Plus the wintry setting was key to the mystery being solved - a very confusing clue. Not to mention ballet feels very Christmassy too! It certainly set my expectations high (which might not have helped as it took a long time to get to the next murder.)An exhilarating, awe-inspiring debut from a master storyteller writing for children for the first time, perfect for fans of Philip Pullman, Katherine Rundell and Eva Ibbotson. It only takes one strike! A powerful feminist reworking of the Hans Christian Andersen classic, from bestselling and award-winning creators Emma Carroll and Lauren Child.
