She said: “I have many memories of the girls I’ve volunteered with over my years with Girlguiding, particularly those who have joined us very shy and have thrived during their time with us. It's how we create the right impressions and connect with the people who can make us stronger: our people, volunteers, partners, supporters and other organisations. Now the girl is in her 30s and, with the support of her mum, she still phones me and remembers who I am. We hope that it encourages even more girls to join us and experience the magic of guiding for themselves.

Our brand purpose is at the heart of everything we do - we help all girls know they can do anything. Girlguiding is a UK charity for girls and young women, who believe in helping all girls know they can do anything. InAsia is a bi-weekly in-depth, in-country resource for readers who want to stay abreast of significant events and issues shaping Asia’s development, hosted by The Asia Foundation. I also think Hart did a good job empowering girls without discrediting "traditional" feminine things like dresses or being a dancer or teacher. More than 70 percent of Asia Foundation scholarship recipients have been admitted to universities and vocational colleges. For me, this gives a great insight into the impact of political systems and military regimes than a load of dates and statistics. I don't usually review books that I read with my children, since we get library books out every three weeks and read 3 a night 😂However this book was awesome and came at just the right time, as my 4 year old daughter has just started to say things like "girls can't do that," or "that's for boys. There is still a long way to go, but I have seen so many girls with the right support fulfill their potential and embark on a life-changing path.

I wanted to not only tell children that anything is possible, I wanted to prove it to them, which is why we created a gallery of inspirational women on the back end papers of the book. The campaign idea was to widen the work opportunity for women in non-traditional female work careers like surveying, building, welding, plumbing, and butchery. Whatever your child is interested in, whatever their passions and dreams, Girls Can Do Anything shows that their personal goals and dreams ARE achievable. Help us capture the faces of our diverse alumni community by submitting a short video clip, proudly saying ‘Once Reading, always Reading’.Drawing on the first-hand insight of renowned experts, InAsia delivers concentrated analysis on issues affecting each region of Asia, as well as Foundation-produced reports and polls.

About the Author – Girls Can Do Anything

When she joined my unit she had a vocabulary of five or six words, poor motor control and functioned considerably younger than her age. She said: “Occasionally there is the fun of organising a sleepover or camp holiday which I really enjoy. She explores opportunities for study abroad and many other previously unimaginable things, with the hope of a brighter future and supporting her parents. Some girls, the book explains, love arts and crafts while others are skilled in speaking out for others in difficult times.Le Hoai Thuong received a scholarship from The Asia Foundation, and throughout my 10 years leading our girls’ education programs in Vietnam, I have met so many amazing girls like her—from low-income families, who have lost one or both parents, or who are living with disabilities. Written in rhyme, it is a book about how girls can do anything from being an astronaut to a deep-sea diver and everything in-between. I do like that there are portraits in the inner flaps of little girls and their future occupation and in the ending flap have portraits of inspirational women: Nicola Adams, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Marin Alsop, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Karen Gaffney, Jane Goodall, Claudia Gordon, Peng Lei, Maryam Mirzakhani, Josephine Reynolds, Arunima Sinha, Serena Williams, Valentina Tereshkova, Sue Wimpenny, and Mala Yousafzai. If you are a teenager, or parent of teens, you won’t be surprised to learn that these are still hot topics on the whiteboards of today’s GCSE students.
