The fans are still fairly noisy on this 5 Pro, as they ramp up to 50 dB on the Performance mode in the combined tests. You can always opt for the Balanced and Quiet modes if you want to, and we’ll get to them in a bit. Combined with Nahimic 3D audio that pinpoints footsteps in space, you’ll be able to see and hear any scrub headed your way before they even get within firing range.

For the software, I put a clean Windows 10 install on my unit and the Lenovo Vantage app, which then took care of all the updates. However, the Lenovo Legion 5 17 cannot keep up with its octa-core competitors. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H still performs well and the results are above the average for this CPU.
