The Smok R-Kiss 2 sub ohm vape kit combines a high power output with an intelligent design for a powerful, responsive vape. Capable of a 200W max output, it’s the ideal option for DTL (Direct To Lung) vaping, powered by dual 18650 batteries (sold separately) you’ll experience more vaping between charges. Each kit comes complete with the Smok TFV Mini V2 (TFV8 Baby V2) 2ml tank and two TFV Mini V2 mesh coils that deliver better flavour from e-liquid. The size and weight are fabulous and while personally I’m not a big fan of Smok tanks (too thirsty) you can’t argue with the results of the TFV18 mini, this is a well-designed kit that has a great quality to it! Smok R-Kiss 2 – Kit Overview However, when you adjust the wattage to a lower setting below the recommended on the coil (the great thing about these Smok coils that go with the tank is the different choices), the lower wattage significantly reduces the flavour. I was in for a welcome surprise when I opened the TPD edition box; a spare glass! Recent Smok TPD kits have often missed this which I found annoying, not only do we have to suffer 2ml but we get less in the kit too, so the spare glass restored my faith.Better still,it’s a proper glass unrestricted one, I don’t know the capacity but it’s more than the double walled preinstalled one – shhhhh let’s hope nobody notices!

This is essentially a kit designed for cloud chasers. There is no temperature control which vapers are moving away from as a trend, but what you do have is adjustable wattage and bypass mode to find the right setting for you. This device has a covering of scratch resistant silicone paint, it reminds me very much of the covering on the Vaporesso Gen S kit it has that same soft feel to it!Putting the limitations aside, it was time to vape.The S1 Mesh 0.15ohm coil is rated between 40-80 watts and is best between 60-70 watts.From experience, I knew my sweet spot was 66 watts (I usually go for 66.6 watts but there are no decimal places, BAH!). The R-Kiss 2 mod measures in at 84mm tall, and will take tanks with diameters up to 30mm; the TFV18 mini has a diameter of 28mm and is 54mm in height, and is pre-installed with the V18 mini mesh 0.33Ω coil.

For extras Smok have included an extra 6.5ml bubble glass, V18 mini dual mesh 0.15Ω coil, a baggy of O Rings and a type C charge cable. From the top the R-Kiss 2 has a well turned 510 threaded connection plate, with a spring loaded gold plated pin. The airflow is a little on the noisy side wide open and is incredibly airy, while I can get away with 85 and 90W on the lower side, the tank feels as though its constantly wanting to stretch its feet and go to even higher wattages! Bypass Mode The workface of the device has a large 1.3in TFT colour screen and includes all the info you would normally expect to see; the fonts are easily large enough to be read at a glance!Basically bypass mode takes the power directly from the batteries – I want to add a word of caution here or you could burn out your coils, my estimate with full or newly charged batteries is the mod will fire at near to or at the full 200w of the device! Thanks to the technology of the IQ-S chipset you’ll experience a fast ramp-up whatever power level you select. With a range of 5 - 200W, you’ll be able to find a level of vapour production that suits you. Aside from Variable Wattage, there’s also the option of Bypass mode. Bypass will detect the coil resistance and will deliver the maximum power output for a harder-hitting vape. I personally found the R-Kiss 2 mod a delight to use as I suffer from arthritis, and the screen and font size are great and very easy to read. TFV18 Mini I would class this kit as an experienced cloud chasers kit. Would I recommend the Smok R-Kiss 2 Kit?

I was more than a little put off when testing the kit in bypass mode due to the sheer power pushed through the coils! Five levels of safety protection - Low Voltage, Overheat, Short Circuit, Overcharge and Overdischarge Underneath the screen, you have left and right buttons to adjust settings such as the wattage with the type-c USB port below that. At the bottom, you have the battery door which allows access to place your dual 18650s (sold separately). This is firm and holds the batteries in place well. If you seek a single 18650 battery mod, the Innokin 217 Z Force is a useful alternative that also accepts 21700s or 20700s.

I tried this mode only once with the Hellvape Dead Rabbit V3 RDA and felt like I had burnt my tongue lol. Pros Although this reduces the intense flavour you would expect from your e-liquid, it makes up for it with voluminous clouds of vapour. Alternatively, opt for the dual mesh which can enhance the flavour based on the larger surface area or even triple mesh. However, bear in mind this will reduce the cloud production based on needing to pull more e-liquid at a higher wattage, burning your coils faster. The R-Kiss 2 has a host of safety features including 8 sec cut off, short circuit and over discharge protection. In this review I will be using the pre-installed V18 Mini Mesh 0.33Ω coil to start with then swapping it out for the V18 Mini Dual Mesh 0.15Ω coil within the TFV18 Mini, as a liquid I will use be using “KwikVape Lime Slushie”. A Basic guide The bigger design with the R-Kiss 2 slightly reduces the convenience compared to the previous model, but it’s pretty similar with a fire bar on the side for both. What you do get from each mod and tank combo is major cloud production. If you’re a cloud chaser, the Smok R-Kiss range will be right up your street.I’ve got to say when I first opened the kit I was hit with a sense of the wow factor and to a smaller extent the feeling of nostalgia for the earlier days of vaping; to me this is a proper box mod, regardless of what you use as a topper! On the left side of the mod is a large lateral fire bar, which is especially welcome to those of us that have dexterity issues, the right side is plain and covered with the silicone paint, both sides have bevelled edges making the device comfortable to hold in the hand for extended periods!
