Description

Sparks (voiced by Jan Rabson) is a robot toy at Sunnyside Daycare and one of Lotso's henchmen. He only has one line, when he points out Chunk's low intelligence. He later turns against Lotso after learning of his true nature.

Though she did not appear in the original Toy Story, Mrs. Potato Head is mentioned by Mr. Potato Head throughout the film. During Andy's birthday party, the group of toys listen to Sarge through Molly's baby monitor as Andy opens his birthday presents. Suddenly, Mr. Potato Head begins to chant for one of the presents to be a Mrs. Potato Head doll. The other toys look down at him in confusion, but he justifies it by saying, "I can dream, can't I?". Tour Guide Barbie (voiced by Jodi Benson) is a Barbie doll who gives Andy's toys a tour of Al's Toy Barn. Pump Boy is a yellow convertible toy car with doll arms instead of wheels. It is capable of walking very fast and climbing walls. As part of the toys' rescue plan, Woody chooses Pump Boy to wind up the frog to distract Scud. Darby Steel (voiced by Dale Soules) is an elderly space cadet and paroled criminal who Buzz befriends. Initially serving a prison sentence, she joins the cause of Junior Zap Patrol in exchange for having her time reduced. She is an explosives expert. The 1960s". Mrpotatohead.net. In Toy Story (1995), Mr. Potato Head is shown to be moody towards Andy's other toys, though he is friends with Hamm the piggy bank ( John Ratzenberger). When Sheriff Woody ( Tom Hanks) accidentally pushes Buzz Lightyear ( Tim Allen) out of a window, Potato Head accuses Woody of doing it on purpose. At the end of the film, he is overjoyed to hear Andy's sister Molly getting a Mrs. Potato Head on Christmas. In Toy Story, Mr. Potato Head does not have his storage compartment, which he does have in Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3. No official reason was given as to why. The same happens with the hole on the top of his head, which is absent in the first film.

Hasbro updated the brand in 2021, dropping the honorific in the name and marketing the toy simply as Potato Head, while retaining the individual characters of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. [8] History [ edit ] Duke Caboom (voiced by Keanu Reeves) is an amiable Canadian daredevil toy with a white outfit, a horseshoe mustache, and a toy motorcycle. [48] [45] He suffers from low self-esteem due to believing that he let down his previous owner Rejean, unable to do the stunts that his commercial ads had promised. [49] Duke Caboom is a parody of the Evel Knievel Rally Stunt Cycle by the Ideal Toy Company. [50] Mr. Potato head also appeared in The Simpsons episodes " In the Name of the Grandfather" and " The Spy Who Learned Me". A spoof of Mr. Potato Head named Mr. Carrot Head appeared in The Simpsons episode " Angry Dad: The Movie" in 2011. Neptuna (voiced by Jane Lynch) is a mermaid toy from the "Mermaid Battle Squadron" line who leads the discarded Fun Meal toys support group.

Tinny is a small, music-making tin toy that is the owner of a club for antique toys hidden inside a pinball machine. Tinny is actually the main character of Pixar's first short, Tin Toy. Tinny was also planned to be the main protagonist of Toy Story until he was replaced by what would become the basis for Buzz Lightyear. Barrel of Monkeys is a barrel used to contain red monkeys, whose arms connect to each other. In a brief appearance, the monkeys are lowered by Andy's other toys out of the bedroom window in an attempt to retrieve Buzz, but the plan fails as there are not enough monkeys. They make brief appearances in the next two films during Andy's playtime. A Barrel of Monkeys is also briefly featured as one of Bonnie's toys in the short film Hawaiian Vacation. In 2015, Melanie Martinez released the song " Mrs. Potato Head" on her debut album Cry Baby. [29] Toy Story franchise [ edit ] Production information [ edit ] Movies [ edit ] Melephant Brooks (voiced by Mel Brooks), Chairol Burnett (voiced by Carol Burnett), Bitey White (voiced by Betty White), and Carl Reineroceros (voiced by Carl Reiner) are four of Bonnie's old baby toys. They no longer get played with by Bonnie, and thus, are stashed away in her closet. Melephant is a blue elephant, Chairol is a green toddler's chair, Bitey is a teether in the form of a tiger, and Carl is a purple rhinoceros. Each toy has visible damage caused due to wear and tear, with crayon scribbles, scratches, bite marks, and paint wearing away. Each of the four toys' names are puns on their voice actors. Condorman (voiced by Bob Bergen) is a condor-themed superhero in his vehicle. He is an allusion to the film of the same name. The design that Pixar used for Mr. Potato Head is an altered version of the 1980s and 90s design. For instance, in the real world, the toy Mr. Potato Head's eyes are attached to each other with only one hole on the plastic potato to put them in. In the Toy Story films, Mr. Potato Head's eyes are separate, and have one hole for each eye on the plastic body to place them in (this is true for the shoes as well). That is the reason the Toy Story Collection version has connected eyes, in which the eye connection is a "half inaccuracy." The collectors were not pleased. Buttercup (voiced by Jeff Garlin) is a stuffed white unicorn. Despite his name and appearance, he has a very gruff voice and sarcastic personality. He is the first to introduce himself to Woody when Bonnie brings him home. He later appears in the film's end credits, having befriended the similarly sardonic Hamm. The storybook Mrs. Potato Head is reading to the Toddle Tots in Toy Story 2 is titled A Bug's Life. The picture seen in the book is at the point of the film where the two kids next to Dot say "Your dad's right, he's gonna die." shortly after Flik leaves for Bug City.

In 1975, the main potato part of the toy doubled in size and the dimensions of its accessories were similarly increased. This was done mainly because of new toy child safety regulations that were introduced by the U.S. government. The size change increased the market to younger children, enabling them to play and attach the facial pieces easily. Hasbro also replaced the holes with flat slats, allowing only one possible orientation for the attached parts. In the 1980s, Hasbro reduced the range of accessories for Mr. Potato Head to one set of parts. The company reintroduced round holes in the main potato body, and once again parts were able to go onto the toy in any orientation. [ citation needed] This would've been debunked as Mrs. Potato Head's detached eye still functioned in Toy Story 3, and at one point had one of her ears be used as a receiver for Buzz in Toy Story 4. The next morning, the toys sneak a spoon into a sleeping Bonnie's hand as a substitute for Forky, but to no avail, as Bonnie is distraught over losing her favorite toy. As she goes outside with her parents to look for him, the toys contemplate on what to do. Buzz (after listening to his "inner voice", AKA his voicebox) then states he must go, to which Mr. Potato Head asks what happens after that. Buzz then states there's no time to explain and jumps out the window to find Woody and Forky, leaving the other toys to make sure the Andersons do not leave the RV park. Meanwhile, Woody talks to Bo Peep (who is now a lost toy and helps Woody rescue Forky from the Antique Store) mentions to her how the whole gang is still together, including Mr. Potato Head. Despite having more of an attitude in Toy Story, he becomes much more amicable after the arrival of Mrs. Potato Head. Bonnie Anderson (voiced by in Emily Hahn in Toy Story 3, short films, television specials and Madeleine McGraw in Toy Story 4) [38] is one of the children who attends Sunnyside Daycare, where her mother is the receptionist. In Toy Story 3, Andy donates his toys to her before he leaves for college. In the short film Hawaiian Vacation, Bonnie goes on a vacation to Hawaii and leaves Barbie and Ken in her room. In Toy Story of Terror, she and her mother are stranded at a motel, and she later discovers the manager has been stealing her toys to sell on the internet. In The Toy Story That Time Forgot, it is revealed that Bonnie has scheduled play dates with a friend named Mason in a neighboring house. In Small Fry, Bonnie forgets Buzz in a fast-food restaurant's ball pit and does not notice that the mini-buzz has taken his place. Partysaurus Rex reveals that Bonnie has an extensive collection of bath toys, and that the regular toys fear being included in her bath time. In Toy Story 4, Bonnie creates a toy called Forky out of trash, on her first day of kindergarten.

Bookworm (voiced by Richard Kind) is a green toy worm with a built-in flashlight who wears glasses. He keeps a library of instruction manuals in a closet at Sunnyside, and gives Lotso the instruction manual for Buzz Lightyear. He later gives the same manual to Barbie (whom he mistakes for Ken since she is disguised in his spacesuit outfit). In the credits, he is seen happily using his flashlight to light a disco ball during a party at Sunnyside. He only has two lines in the film. The toys are unexpectedly rescued by the aliens from being incinerated at the Tri-County Landfill. Mrs. Potato Head tells the aliens, "You saved our lives," followed by Mr. Potato Head telling them, "And we are eternally grateful" (the same statement the aliens have repeatedly said to Mr. Potato Head) and Mrs. Potato Head is shown to be pleased as her husband hugs the aliens, finally accepting them as their children.Services Set for Story Genius Joe Ranft". Animation World Network. August 19, 2005 . Retrieved February 7, 2019. He has helped the toys several times in each movie from his quotes, like when he sarcastically said, "Let's leave Buzz to play with his toys." or "Andy doesn't want us. What's the point?". In the Toy Story 2: 2-Disc Special Edition DVD, concept art for Mrs. Potato Head depicts her with green shoes, green earrings, a pair of large yellow glasses, and a floppy green hat. Concelmo, Chad (July 1, 2010). "Review: Toy Story 3: The Video Game". Destructoid . Retrieved April 2, 2019. When Woody holds a staff meeting, Mr. Potato Head asks if they have to hold hands when Woody tells everyone to get a moving buddy. Mr. Potato Head points out that Woody is, of course, not worried when he tells everyone not to panic when Andy's birthday has been moved to that day, only for Slinky to speak up to Potato Head when he has complained about that. When Slinky is not looking, Mr. Potato Head takes off his mouth and "kisses" his butt while Slinky keeps talking. When Woody sends Sarge and his Green Army Men, Potato Head prays for Andy to get a Mrs. Potato Head.
