However, we’ve had mixed experiences with photochromic lenses over the years: On our Smith Skylines, for example, a section of the lens refused to change the tint, which rendered them useless. For someone that skis frequently but still is on a tight budget, we recommend springing for the slightly more expensive Smith Range above—it is more comfortable and has a much better lens. Its interchange system is not the fastest to use—it’s outdone by the magnetic Anon M4 below—but the I/O Mag earns its title as the best all-around ski goggle with its excellent ChromaPop lenses.

With big players like Anon (Burton), Smith, and Oakley dominating the goggle scene, it’s a tough place to break through.

Further, we found the Zeiss lenses to be a bit duller overall than ChromaPop, although we certainly appreciate the natural colors and feel. The curve is intended to mimic the shape of your eyeball to give a natural, superior field of view and optics. Available in a wide range of lens colours and types including mirrored, OTG and polarised, you can find the right goggles for you at BLOC Eyewear.

Released as a quick-change variation of the classic I/O, the goggle features superb optics with an expansive field of view, comes with two lenses, has an extremely comfortable fit, and is one of the best ventilators we’ve tested. To avoid degrading the treatment, it's important to limit the amount of times you wipe moisture off the lens (only do this in the most desperate of times). A poor-quality lens will feel flimsy and distort under stress, affecting the clarity of vision for the user. Several goggle brands have been developing their own speciality lenses in recent years to give snowsports users increased protection and better vision in the conditions they are likely to face in the mountains. Ultraviolet (UV) light also becomes more intense at altitude - the higher you go the stronger it becomes.

First of all, you don’t want to give yourself a migraine by wearing ski goggles that are too tight for your head. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.
