Indeed, the only way to truly halt the advance of a Monolith is to target it with a sustained period of focussed fire. You cannot select the same psychic power more than once per battle round, unless that power is Smite. When I first saw the model I honestly thought it was a new unit as it looked too big and beefy to be a Monolith.

Veil of Darkness– My suggestion is to make the Monolith start the game on the table, but be able to deepstrike outside of 12″ of any any enemy models, instead of using the Portal, Eternity Gate, or Particle Whip that turn. I’ve found that using straight from the pot can lead to some overly green sections, which isn’t what I’m looking for, so the thinning really helps to dilute some of that colour and turn it to the characteristic turquoise-esque colour. For monopose models where it’s important to keep parts together, but I still want to do clipping and cleaning of plastic in a batch, I tend to flip the bases upside down and keep the parts together in those once they’re cleaned.Once you’ve got a base down for your green, start reducing the amount of space your highlights take up as you work through mixes of Caliban Green and Warpstone Glow, straight Warpstone Glow, and then mixes of Warpstone Glow and Moot Green until you get to a final highlight of Moot Green and Yriel Yellow in that same 3:1 ratio as before.
