Description

The EcoRun is compact form factor treadmill. Typically, the running area of these types of treadmills are 40 cm by 120 cm. DKN have broken away from this and have made the running area approximately 5% larger in both width and length, which makes a noticeable difference when running, rather than jogging. In terms of the speed, you can enjoy a maximum of 20kph – so your sprint practicing will be challenging enough on this machine. There is a tablet holder and two water bottle holders (which can also double up as a handy location for storing your mobile phone if needed). Other standout features? A sturdy belt, detailed workout stats to help you keep tabs on your progress, and all manner of classes (there’s everything from HIIT to yoga) when you don’t fancy running. Plus, you can create your own running routes anywhere in the world thanks to clever Google maps integration.

Once assembled, DKN’s intentions with this machine becomes very clear: create a realrunning machine for those on a tight budget that simply doesn’t compromise! We spent a few moments admiring the look of the looks of this treadmill – it manages to look both industrial grade and stylish. So, you’ve set aside some cash to splash on a top treadmill. Good choice. Now all that’s left is the lengthy process of deciding which model to go for. Automatic incline on the EzRun is a big plus. This makes running more varied and gives you a great cardio workout. The DKN EzRun has up to 12% incline. This is automatic, so you will not need to stop to reset the incline – you control it via the console. This does mean you’ll have programs where you have this mid-session. Perfect if you are using the app to run on a course which has varied terrain. The mechanical incline is impressive and can be controlled manually or as part of one of the 15 pre-set programmes. The speakers are probably the worst feature of the EzRun and although they do offer some improvement on a mobile phone speaker they do not provide what we might deem as high-quality audio. This is often the case with in-built speakers on fitness equipment and we would rather the budget be spent on other internal components such as the 1.75HP motor, which is certainly up to the task. Like most home-use treadmills, the EnduRun requires assembly. Thankfully, like other DKN treadmills, the setup is simple. The hardest part comes before starting the assembly: Getting the boxed machine with a weight of 135kg to the right place! This weight of the box is the first clue that this is a serious treadmill! After that, the assembly is simple and is complete in just four steps. The diagrams in the manual are nice and clear and while it’s certainly a two person job, there’s nothing in the slightest bit complicated about the build so we had everything ready to go in just under 30 minutes.

The incline works efficiently, both manual and pre-set, though it isn’t too impressive. 12% will be sufficient for most runners, but I like to get a bit quad and glute heavy, so felt a little let down. EzRun Treadmills come 95% assembled. A big plus for those of us that are not DIY-minded (or just want to get running without the bother). DKN EzRun Treadmills: Incline and Cushioning Mustering the motivation to don your running shoes and brave the changeable British weather is no easy feat. That's where the Pro 9000 comes in – with a huge 22-inch HD touchscreen, built-in Bluetooth speakers and interactive training via iFit, it offers an immersive running experience from the comfort of your living room or home gym. However, for beginner to intermediate level runners, looking to balance training requirements with spatial comfort at home, it is perfect. It is perfect, too, for larger athletes looking to build a caloric deficit and lose weight safely and conveniently.

Other features include a Bluetooth Smart heart rate wireless receiver (worked flawlessly during our test), dual water bottle holders, tablet holder, and last but definitely not least, levelling feet that enable you to get the treadmill set up dead flat – which makes a difference! A reason to choose this model is the full feature set. You can choose to use the console, or an app via your own phone or tablet.

Just Be Careful Out There!

With a decent max incline of 15%, it allowed our expert testers to challenge themselves on hilly running routes, while the sturdy handlebars provided stability on particularly tough climbs. They were grateful for the built-in fan, which helped them stay cool and comfy, and said the high-quality belt provided plenty of bounce as well as space for a comfortable stride. Overall, therefore, I would highly recommend the EzRun for any larger athletes looking to open up a caloric deficit and slim down, for any newcomers looking for a safe, reliable way to train, and for those more intermediate runners looking for a model that will last them a long time as they pound the miles away.
