It can cost a lot of money to get a professional turntable. So, in this Stanton ST.150 MKII Turntable review, we will look at a turntable that isn’t going to require a mortgage and see if it measures up. Adjustable pitch range– Just like with digital DJ software, you can change the range the pitch fader works over, in this case from +/-8% (like Technics) to +/-25% (which is still possible to use for beat matching) all the way to +/-50%! Great fun for the creative DJ There is an inclusion of an audio output that is switchable. Others include the reverse play, internal power grounding, replaceable pop-up light, two start and stop buttons aligned perfectly, speed adjustment knobs, and pitch adjusting knobs. Other than the color, you’ll also love its finishing. The metal-plated finish makes it a super fine device. A simple touch will evidence that it has a very smooth steel texture. The bottom part consists of a quality rubber, giving it a nice rubber texture. Overall, the finishing is durable, and you can be sure that, whether the device is meant for home use or in other entertainment places, it will serve you for a lengthy time. Both models deliver exceptional audio quality, providing clear and accurate sound reproduction. The ST-150 MK2, with its improved motor isolation system and reinforced tonearm base, further enhances the overall audio performance by minimizing unwanted noise and vibrations, resulting in a cleaner and more detailed sound output.

The Pioneer PLX 1000 and ST.150 are both super OEM turntables, and that means both have super study motors. However, the Stanton has been there for years, meaning the performance and efficiency have been tried and tested. When it comes to finishing, pioneer seems to have perfected the art more. PROs & CONs Listing Reverse– Again, a great toy for the creative DJ and of course due to the high-torque motor it does its stuff fast – well under a second The connectivity options on both the ST-150 MK1 and MK2 turntables remain largely similar. They feature a standard RCA output, allowing easy integration into any DJ setup or audio system. Additionally, both models offer a line output with a built-in phono preamp, enabling direct connection to speakers or amplifiers. Setting up and operating this device is easy. You need to place your record on the aluminum platter and press the start button. The file will play at three speeds (33, 45, and 78) and selected pitch controls at +/- 8%, 25%, 50%. This makes the turntable a great choice to play your vinyl records of any size. This cookie stores user-like settings for the chat system provider, which are required for our online chat service. Trusted Shops If we are to look to find something that might have been omitted from the build, we can only think of one thing. We are not including the dust cover because, as we said, DJ turntables don’t usually have them. The only thing we can see is the absence of a USB connection. That would have allowed you to transfer precious recordings to digital if you needed to. Now… because of the nature of just slipping them out under the radar, there isn’t actually any press material, so our Sean Pappalardo aka DJ Pegasus was on hand to take pictures of marketing materials. Yeah go figure. But here’s Stanton’s new range of turntables:

Still, on the turntable construction, you need to know that it is a heavyweight with durable and quality components. It weighs 40 plus pounds, making it a super reliable device of choice. The turntable consists of steel and rubber, and you can never go wrong with such a caliber device. While this ensures that the device achieves maximum support and compatibility, the rubber used will help in reducing the damping effects. It will be hard to hear vibrations when on use. The Stanton ST.150 M2 and STR8.150 M2 (pictured above) come in a completely reworked design inside and out. They are now lighter and more ergonomic. The power column has gone (good riddance), and has been replaced by a new light, with the removable light still where it was. Seems like one light too many to me now.If you can't stretch to the Shure, consider models you can afford from the likes of Ortofon, Audio-Technica, Goldring, Grado, Sumiko, and probably others I've forgotten. Get a model that has an elliptical (or fine-line) stylus. It is very well-made, as is obvious from the first impression you get. It has a weighted feel that encourages confidence in its performance. So it should, it has an excellent build quality. As most things are these days, though, this turntable is made in China. The Design While your typical digital controller DJ certainly doesn’t DJ on turntables daily, consider these scenarios:
