Anekdote an mich selbst; wenn du am Ende des Buchs bemerkst das es anscheinend eine Trilogie ist statt einer Dilogie 😳, dann habe ich Pech gehabt! Schon von Beginn an spürte ich den Sog, der mich noch tiefer in die Welt brachte und ich lernte neue Kreaturen kennen, aber auch neue Elemente der Magie. Es war wieder unglaublich rasant, spannend und fesselnd. Gerade das Ende hielt zahlreiche Plottwists bereit, die absolut unmöglich vorherzusehen waren. Feniks maakt in Feniks en het ijspaleis een flinke evolutie door. Vijf, één van de andere personages, maakt ook een sterke karakterontwikkeling door. Hij kiest aan het einde zelfs zijn jagersnaam. Joekelhond, die we in deel één hebben leren kennen, wordt steeds menselijker, wat hem aandoenlijk maakt en ook een sterkere positie in het verhaal geeft. De andere personages blijven echter vrij vlak, waardoor het ingewikkeld kan zijn om te onthouden wie welk personage ook alweer precies is. It's wonderful in every way. The plot is the focus in this one and it works so well. There's a sizeable threat Phoenix & co need to face. The story manages to be unexpected, have high stakes and tie in character growth really well too. It also opens up to show the scope of what's at risk without deviating too much from the main action.
