And although both the 9kW and 10.8kW models come with preventative measures to combat limescale and prolong their life, you do have some insurance — all Mira electric showers come with a 2 year warranty. Triton electric showers (and similar appliances from top electric shower brands) don’t rely on the boiler to heat water. Instead, they use an internal element, so your boiler can remain idle while you shower.

I had been looking for an overhead shower arrangement for a standard electric shower for a while & this one fitted the bill perfectly. It was an easy replacement for a previous Mira shower. The dual head attachment was very easy to install and works great. I would highly recommend this, and also Plumbworld who provided a very efficient service. There’s an adjustable riser kit, so if you’re swapping out an old shower, you can use it to cover up holes in the tiles. Ease Of Use [And Design]Limescale protection – different manufacturers offer their own solutions to limescale. Typically it’s handled through a phased shutdown in which increasingly cool water is run through the shower once you’ve finished using it. Limescale is a particular problem for electric showers as they have their own heating element which can get furred up and is hard to access. Deciding on the best electric shower wattage for your needs will depend on the water flow rate in your home. If you have a good sized water tank, a 9.5-10.5kW electric shower will give you a powerful flow of water. If you have a smaller water tank, our electric showers with wattage up to 8.5kW are an ideal choice. If you have weak electricity output, you’d want to buy a small electric shower with an integral pump. For those with low mains pressure, you can get away with a larger electric shower (such as a 10.5kW), and the integrated pump will help boost the flow rate. As long as you have access to a hot water feed then you can install a digital shower – you can’t yet get a digital electric shower. There are scenarios where you’d be better off buying a low-kW electric shower (such as an 8KW). This would be the case if you have:

Which Electric Shower Brands Should You Buy?

Some versions let you set the maximum and minimum water temperature and include smart functionality to monitor use - something that carers might find very useful. How much do showers cost to buy and to fit? If you don’t want to go full-on digital with something like the Bristan Bliss, but the Seville is a bit too boring, the Mira Sport Max electric shower offers a fantastic middle ground. And the fact it’s 10.8kW means that in terms of power, it is the best electric shower on this list.
