Even the night video footage captured from a few metres away is surprisingly smooth and clear, and when compared to models from only a few years ago it is, pardon the pun, like night and day. These also provide crisp images without startling the wildlife or birds. Excellent night vision Storage This product is the latest upgrade of an already popular camera, and offers its customers some excellent features for a very reasonable price. The lens features a 130°wide angle view with up to 65ft distance covered. Detection angle of the sensors are 60 degrees centre, and thirty degrees on each side sensor, therefore making up the 130 degrees viewing angle.

A wildlife camera’s protection against water ingress is measured using the IP (ingress protection) scale. No-glow LEDs are almost completely unnoticeable to animals, so wildlife is unlikely to get spooked when the lights come on and the camera starts recording. The lens flashes in an ultra-fast 0.4 seconds which means you’re unlikely to miss any wildlife (also humans) that comes past the camera. The Campark T45 Trail Camera is another high-performance trail camera that offers excellent value for your money. It comes stashed with features that you’d ordinarily find in models with a significantly higher price.Finding gadgets that offer value for money isn’t always easy, but the Technaxx Nature Wild Cam TX-69 offers a good balance between quality, performance and price.

The Crenova 20MP Wildlife Camera comes complete with a 32gb SD card. Moreover, the camera supports both SD and SDHC memory cards. Doing this allows for you to not only stay organized, but when an SD card begins to act up, and eventually they all will, you will know exactly which card needs to be replaced. Programming the camera in general isn’t difficult to do either. The display screen is easy to navigate and all of the functions, like timers and timelapse, are simple enough to get to grips with. Again though, this casing has a slight dampening effect on the sound, but it isn’t anything to worry about unless things like hearing the bird’s morning call in as much detail as you can is your main reason for buying. My biggest gripe about this otherwise excellent camera, is that when you change the batteries, you have to mess around and redo the settings that you previously adjusted to your liking. It’s very annoying, even though it doesn’t take that long. There are a ton of features to play with on this wildlife camera, such as capture mode, PIR interval, timer setting, time lapse, PIR sensitivity, and much more. Thankfully the interface is very straightforward and it doesn’t take long to get to grips with operating this excellent product. This serves to enhance the range that your camera can capture, although the subjects will be tiny in the final image. Trail cams only record for a short amount of time. Often, they record for around 30 seconds but some cameras let you choose how long to record for (commonly between 10 – 90 seconds). To help with conserving power, there is a programmable timer function so that the camera is only active when you want it to be.

The camera records video in 1080p resolution (equal to approximately 2MP), the same as many other units on this list. When it comes to photos, it shoots at 12 megapixels, which is slightly less than a lot of other cameras (for example, the budget SUNTEKCAM uses 24 megapixels). However, this is less important if you’re going to be using the camera predominantly for videos. Consequently, I also label the two SD cards that have been formatted to that camera with the same number. This way, I always know which SD card will go to which trail camera. Its like having a match set. For example if the trail camera has been labeled #3 I will have one SD Card labeled 3A and the other 3B. Multifunction & Simplified Operation:3 Capture Modes (photo or/and video), 2 Power Supply Options (8 1.5V AA batteries/1.5-2A, 6V DC external power), Photo Series, Audio Recording, Shot Lag, Target Recording Time, Time Lapse, Endless Capture, Time Stamp etc. For taking clear photos and videos, the most important thing to consider is camera resolution. Look for a wildlife camera that records video in 2 – 8 megapixels (MP). The basic plan with trail cameras is to catch either photos or video (or both) for you when you’re not around. This is often used by hunters to scope out where the best wildlife is or nature enthusiasts like myself to spy on the garden critters after dark. The casing is extremely sturdy and weatherproof, featuring IP66 waterproofing and being able to withstand both extreme heat and cold, which is a good thing here in the UK. Well, the cold part anyway. It also means that it is sealed off from dust and similar small debris, which is always a good thing. It doesn’t seem that long ago I was so excited to get my hands on a wildlife camera that could take photos at 16MP, but now this unit is capable of far more than that at 24 megapixels! Furthermore, its IP66 rating makes it weatherproof, so you can still use it in the rain and snow without trouble.
