I'm fine. / Yonah: That's good. Oh, look! I... I found this while you were gone. / Protagonist: A cookie? Hey, that's your favorite. / Yonah: Here, we can split it, okay? / Protagonist: No, you take it. / Yonah: Dad, no. You need to eat something. / Protagonist: ...All right. When you reach the clearing at the exit, go inside the small hut and examine the flowers inside. This will prompt a cutscene introducing a new character, Kaine... and trigger a boss battle. (!) BOSS BATTLE (!) Description: A woman in green near the fountain in the shopping district has asked you to collect ten pieces of mutton. Walkthrough: Kill sheep. Harvest mutton. It couldn't possibly be any easier. The switching from open third person to 2D sidescroller to top down beat 'm up is something I never thought could work so well. Go home and speak to Yonah. It turns out she isn't feeling so well. Go to the library and speak to Popola: she'll tell you about a special fish that can be used to make a potent painkiller, and direct you toward the Seafront. To reach the Seafront, you'll need to exit the Village through the southern gate, which lies at the end of the market district. There are a number of quests in the market district that involve going to Seafront, so now might be a good time to get started if you haven't already. The Southern Plains

Same as before, there's not exactly a lot to do here. Kill the giant spiders if you feel like it, and don't forget to collect whatever you can from any harvest points that you see. The Village Continue north through the halls and move on to the next area. You'll come to a ballroom. Fight off all of the shades and then view the scene with Kaine. After the scene, fight your way through the shades to Kaine and examine her. Another scene will trigger where the remaining shades are absorbed into each other, becoming a single, massive entity. (!) BOSS BATTLE (!) Napolitano, Jayson (May 4, 2010). "Deep into NieR: Interview With Vocalist and Lyricist Emi Evans". Original Sound Version. Archived from the original on July 13, 2011 . Retrieved July 9, 2011. There are no map icons in Seafront, so you'll have to figure out what to do all by yourself, which is what I recommend doing. There's some rather amusing dialog with Weiss. Eventually, Weiss will tell you exactly what to do if you ask him, or you can just listen to me. The man you need to speak to is the old fisherman, standing at the wharf looking out over the ocean, just beyond the fishmonger's stall. Speak to him, and he will give you a fishing pole and a lure. Cavia (April 27, 2010). Nier ( PlayStation 3, Xbox 360). Square Enix. [ Project Gestalt Report 0923] […] Our role as surveillance androids to prepare for when the incurable bacterial disease eventually dies out is also underway. So far, this is proceeding without issue. Observer 021 Codename: PopolaRun into the clearing and help Kaine take care of all the smaller shades in the area. Once they're all dead, run through the tunnel, killing all of the shades that you encounter on the way. Examine the mailbox or not once you get to the village--you cannot save, either way. Run to the first large platform to trigger a scene and initiate the first half of a very cool boss fight. (!) BOSS BATTLE (!) Description: The tavern keeper needs more ingredients for her medicine. This time she needs an eagle egg, found in high places where the wind blows. Walkthrough: You'll find your egg in the Aerie, near the Mayor's House. Most reviewers probably only played ending A, and missed out the entire point of the game's story and themes. Exit the seventh trial room and head down the narrow corridor to your left. Run out across the bridge and enter the large door at the other end. Save at the mailbox. When you're ready for a fight, head down the stairs into the main chamber to face the boss. (!) The only exception is the Fisherman's Gambit series of quests, which can be started and finished in either part of the game. Gameplay [ edit ] The main character fighting a giant Shade. The updated version of Replicant adds a fifth ending that occurs after a new game is begun following the fourth ending, beginning following the defeat of Kainé's Shade nemesis Hook. Three years after the Shadowlord's defeat, Kainé continues having nightmares about losing something precious, and fights increasingly-hostile Shades. Going to the Forest of Myth to investigate its sudden silence, she finds everyone killed by machines emerging from its central tree, revealed to be the control unit recording Replicant memories, its AI communicating with Kainé through twin childlike avatars. Kainé is aided in fighting past machine duplicates of her by Emil, eventually entering the tree's mainframe and battling enemies drawn from her memories, culminating in a battle with a more-powerful Hook helped by the data remains of Grimoire Weiss. Kainé destroys Hook and the AI, restoring the protagonist in his young form; all of the player's save data prior to the fourth ending is consequently restored. The year 11,945 is when NieR: Automata begins. Alien beings invaded the earth with an army of machines and have since destroyed all humanoid life. The surviving part of humanity retreats to the moon and organizes the resistance from there. A space station in Earth orbit (“Bunker”) is the base of the androids called “YorHa”, which were developed to fight in a proxy war for humans against machines. The androids are strictly forbidden to have real names or to have real feelings, which fundamentally distinguishes them from humans.

Fight your way through the maze of boxes in the next room. You'll find the next keycard--the SA Keycard--in the northwest corner of the room. At the north end of the room you'll see a hidden hallway. Use it to access the eastern corner. Examine the object in the center of the room to obtain the two-handed sword, Fang of the Twins. Once you're done watching the spiffy little action cut-scene, you'll have to kill all of the shades. Feel free to play around with your new weapons, but these armored shades are best taken out with either two-handed swords or magic. Now that the tutorial is over, you can finally start playing the "real" game. If you don't quite understand what the prologue has to do with the game proper, don't worry. You'll figure it out eventually. Graphics: One of the few things in this game not worth writing home about. They are not as bad as some would lead you to believe, but definitely mediocre, considering this game was released in 2010. It looks more akin to a 2006 title. The actual art style on the other hand, is quite gorgeous. Every character is distinguishable, every area has its own theme and style, and the enemies look menacing. Blood sprays everywhere as you cut your way through your adversaries. Hopefully you’ll be distracted enough by the fun gameplay to overlook the graphical shortcomings.
