We’ve not used it all that much, and due to our early failure to actually cook anything we can’t go above 3 stars. Freestanding or built-in LPG cookers are generally suitable for static caravans with 230V ignition. But there are various models of LPG ovens with a 12V supply as well, and they are perfect for motorhomes, mobile homes, and boats. Our LPG ovens and cookers also come in a selection of sizes suitable for different models of caravan. If you enjoy cooking when you're away from home, then a decent oven can make all the difference. Our selection of built-in and free-standing LPG cookers includes models that are ideal for static caravans, mobile homes, boats, and motorhomes alike. They come complete with basic features, such as oven, grill, and hobs. At the top of our range is the Thetford Spinflo Aspire MK2 Oven and Grill, a 12V freestanding LPG cooker with anti-rattle shelves, followed closely by the Spinflo Cocina for 230V supply. But if you have the space, then any one of the LPG cookers in our Thetford Hobs and Cookers range should serve you well.

Cooking on the road may be convenient, but if you don’t pay attention to safety, things can go wrong. The risk of spillages and burns is higher when you’re parked on uneven roads and not able to keep a close eye on your cooker. Therefore, you should look for a portable cooker which has safety features built-in to minimize the potential for accidents. Our collections by our couriers are happening as usual. As it stands, delivery times are not being affected too much. Please be aware though that Royal Mail and other couriers are sometimes prioritising essential items so please bear with us if your delivery takes slightly longer than expected.

Finding the perfect cooker is as much a matter of size as it is a matter of personal taste. Some of our most popular entry-level cookers are the Sunngas Portable Gas Stove with Single Burner, the SMEV Series 200 Mini Oven, and the 18-litre Dometic OV1800 built-in mini-oven. These convenient appliances allow you to enjoy delicious hot meals wherever you may be so you don’t need to waste money at rest stops on unhealthy fast food. Portable cookers are very simple to use. All you need to do is place your ingredients inside and switch them on. Pre-prepared meals and leftovers can be reheated in minutes, or you can cook a fresh meal from scratch in a few hours. This is a common question, but the answer depends on what type of foods you are cooking and at what temperature. Your portable cooker should come complete with cooking time instructions and may even include recipe ideas. As a general rule, at 300°F, you should expect a meal cooked in your portable cooker to take around 2 to 2.5x as long as it would take in your oven at home. Of course, you’ll need to experiment with this a little before you get it right every time. Final Thoughts

For the latest information and advice on COVID-19, please refer to the latest updates by the UK Government. When choosing a portable cooker, you should consider what type of meals you are likely to be using it for. If you will be pre-cooking meals at home and simply wish to reheat them, most portable cookers will be able to achieve this easily within 30 minutes. Alternately, if you are on the road for a long time and prefer to cook from scratch every day, a portable slow cooker could be the best choice. Safety Features There are only so many dishes you can cook with a microwave oven, and gas remains the caravanner's main fuel source for cooking. There are three types of cookers: gas, electricity, and dual-fuel. LPG stands for liquefied petroleum gas – more specifically propane or butane, two liquids that evaporate if released in the atmosphere. LPG cookers come in all shapes and sizes, depending on the purpose and how they're fitted: ovens, grills, ignition hobs, combination hobs, freestanding, built-in, drop-in, slide-in, or built-under cookers. The best way to prevent spillages when using your portable cooker is to choose a model which has secure clasp closures. This should ensure the contents remain safely inside if the unit topples over.Update – The motorhome slow cooker never really worked out for us. When we bought our new motorhome it came with a Remoska which is great for when we have hook-up (it’s like a little portable oven) and we also bought a double skillet for day to day cooking on the hob. We have also met folks who swear by slow and thermal cooking in their motorhomes using products like Mr D’s Thermal Cooker or Wonderbag, the non-electric slow cooker.
