Description

GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit technology provides best-in-class waterproof protection with a flexible, made-for-you feel Over an ounce lighter than its predecessor, the Peregrine 12 GTX® delivers more speed for an incredibly fast ride on the trail. This shoe is named after the fastest animal on Earth for a reason. Lightweight and yet fantastically comfortable, the Saucony Peregrine 13 is for blistering speedy trail runs.

For example, the Peregrine 12’s firm EVA foam midsole (Pwrrun) is well behaved during fast trail runs. A partial sleeve holds the soft tongue in position, so there’s no slide. Even though the tongue is lightly padded, the elastic laces cinch smoothly without applying top-down pressure. One, this is what’s used in a lot of their road shoes, this PWRRUN+. It’s a rebound-y, cushiony type of foam. Without doing an entire midsole in it, they use this, so it adds a little extra cushion. It adds a little extra bounce. In the past, the Peregrine has come with a ‘top sole’ sitting beneath the insole and above the midsole. Lots of users found that after a while this extra layer of padding would come apart from the shoe, leading to durability issues. The springy, comfortable Excursion TR16 GTX trail shoes are designed for all-round performance on the trails and are made to be suitable for both walking and trail running. Featuring GORE-TEX membrane in the upper material which provides protection against, rain, mud and moisture, meaning you remain comfortable and dry in all-weather conditions. The Saucony Peregrine 12’s fit feels a lot like some of recent Asics running shoes – snug in the forefoot, but long in the front. And yet, we recommend buying true-to-size. The Saucony Peregrine 12 is a fast trail shoe with decent traction, protection, and cushioning to be versatile on diverse trail conditions. They are built for speed and Since the Terra Kiger 8 is a softer trail running than the Peregrine, it’s more comfortable for long-distance trail runs.

Write a small covering note with the product/s you wish to exchange, please include relevant codes and sizes for replacement. Stability: B- (not a stability shoe, for runners who can tolerate 4mm drop and do not require traditional stability features) This applies to both kinds of straps – the thinner rubber ones like what Kahtoola uses, or a flat strap used on an Outdoors Research Gore-Tex gaiter. PROS AND CONS Run Commute Apparel - Trying Rabbit and Arc'Teryx pieces that are good for taking to work on the run And it’s not a stiff plate, but a woven kind that flexes together with the midsole. During runs, it’s hard to tell that it’s even there.

Saucony Xodus Ultra

The outsole of the Peregrine 12 has well-spaced, chevron lugs sitting at 4.6mm deep. The spacing means it’s really good at shedding mud, and can work on softer ground too. From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected. Feel of the shoe: Feels like a road running shoe with extra grip. The GORE-TEX upper doesn’t change the fit - choose your usual size.

Andrea: The Peregrine 12 is the best version of the Peregrine I have tried. I would be hard pressed to think of another trail shoe that performs better on loose terrain, particularly snow and mud, as compared to the Peregrine. I think that the overall performance of the shoe could be improved if Saucony could make the outsole even more flexible while maintaining the lug pattern, which is what provides such excellent grip. It does appear that Saucony made the forefoot slightly wider than previous versions and I would encourage them to maintain this feature, which allows for slight toe splay and improved forefoot stability. Katherine Takai is a consultant and endurance sport enthusiast in constant pursuit of new running adventures and the optimal shoes to take her there. At walking speeds, the new footbed produces a noticeable sensation of step-in softness. On the trail, the Pwrrun+ layer blends into the rest of the midsole to produce a firm yet cushioned ride. Overall: B+/A- (my #1 choice for technical trail running, could be improved with more flexible outsole) That should reduce some of the clogging that we experienced on our pair of the standard Peregrine 12. The ST model’s upper has a tighter-woven mesh with a debris shield and bungee-type lacing. I do think that maybe they’ve moved towards the softer ground a bit because I felt a bit of slip on some of the harder surfaces.
