In Monster High, the two mentioned boogie monsters are Twyla and her father. Because of Twyla, we know that boogie monsters eat nightmares. We also see that Twyla can travel through shadows and see if anyone is a shadow, but it's unknown if all boogie monsters have these abilities. "Boogie Sand" can turn anyone into some kind of monster, as shown in the movie "Haunted", when it was used to turn Twyla and the ghouls into ghosts. However, Twyla's shyness does not mean she is unable to appreciate positive attention or enjoy a good laugh. It simply means her standards for feeling comfortable are higher than the average person's. Twyla is very comfortable in her own skin and embraces her freaky flaws, as well as everyone else's. At times, this means she's one of the few who can judge a situation level-headed. At others, this just leaves her feeling estranged from her fellow students. Fair and down-to-earth, Twyla is almost always about serious talking but is also very sarcastic and is the one in the group to be most likely to drop dry of dark humor since she too is playful, in a strange stoic way.

Twyla has light teal wavy hair with purple streaks. Her skin is color is a light purple, she has light teal eyesahdow and dark purple nails. Twyla is best friends with Howleen Wolf, Frankie Stein and Draculaura. She’s also friends with Lagoona Blue, Cleo de Nile, Abbey Bominable, and Clawdeen Wolf.

Clothes: She wears a seafoam colored dress with a cobweb print, and accented with light purple bits of tulle on the collar and skirt. Her shoes are cast in translucent aqua-green and feature bed-shaped heels.

Late June, 2014: Twyla's New Scaremester doll reveals her last name to be "Boogeyman". This was later confirmed to be her last name by Garrett Sander during a MHMonday. If you only wish to read about the basic inspiration choices for the Monster High characters and creatures, go to

Despite the creepy reputation boogeymen hold in the monster community, Twyla is everything but. She's sweet and shy and likes to be helpful. Furthermore, Twyla is autistic, and part of her condition is sensory sensitivity. She's easily startled by loud noises and wears noise-canceling headphones in the form of cobwebs, without them she turns into a shadow. Twyla, spent most of her life hiding in the shadows, even though she didn't care or care, she wanted to live new things and make new friends. Until then, she met Frankie, who helped her to be more cheerful and happier at Monster High. Twyla has light purple-blue skin with grey hands and lower arms. Grey-colored patterns, invoking shadows, swirl up from her ankles to the middle of her lower legs. Her long hair is pastel green with blue and purple stripes which reaches her hips, and her eyes are purple-pink yet glow green in the dark. Shadow-Walking: Twyla can morph within the shadows, invisible to everyone. She can also teleport through shadows, fading through one & reappearing through another.

Twyla is voiced in English by Jonquil Goode. In Freaky Fusion, she was credited under the name Joni Goode. Twyla is the daughter of the Boogeyman. Despite their good relationship, Twyla doesn’t like his nightmares, so she replaces them with sweet dreams. Before the Boo Crew's creepover party at the library, Twyla preferred to live in the shadows, away from the other students. But her new friendship with Draculaura, Clawdeen and Frankie helped her come out of her shell. Twyla loves to read and is always excited to learn something new. Twyla's father is the Boogey Man. Little is known about their relationship other than it's similar to a regular father-daughter relationship; however, it is implied that she does have a strained relationship with him, as she is very displeased by his nightmare-inducing traditions and therefore settles to undo them. It is unknown how her father feels about it or if he even knows. In Monster High there is only one boogie monster that's ever seen being Twyla Boogeyman, so her appearance is a template for boogie monsters. She has light purple-blue skin, with grey hands and feet. The grey pattern on her hands are swirls invoking shadows. Twyla's eyes can also glow in the dark a trait most boogie monsters may have.Twyla likes to do everything herself, eat lunch, read, and more. Yet she is loyal, kind and always ready to do the right thing. Fair and down-to-earth, Twyla is almost always about serious talking but is also very sarcastic and is the one in the group to be most likely to drop dry of dark humor since she too is playful, in a strange stoic way. Doll: This Twyla has slightly translucent skin, having become a ghost. Her hair is styled in long waves and is mostly seafoam green, with a few light purple streaks in the front. She has a ghostly "mask" over her face done in teal, and her lips are a bright coral. Her friendship with Spectra Vondergeist has so far only been brought up in her profile and is not explained. An estimated basis for their friendship is that since they are both reclusive, if for differing reasons, Twyla finds a kindred spirit in Spectra. Crescent • Count Fabulous • Hissette • Watzie • Neptuna • Sir Hoots A Lot • Sweet Fangs • Scarabs • Tut • Perseus • Hissette February 07, 2013: Twyla is officially announced by Mattel's pre- American International Toy Fair press release.

She is also quite close to Gigi Grant, the genie, who she helped with her issues regarding her rebellious shadow Djinni Grant, and who has always been there for her. Gigi is a great friend of Howleen, who brought the two together. In fact, Twyla's shyness means that most of her relationships are induced by her best friend. Twyla is the second character created by Mattel to be autistic, the first being Bruno the brake car, from Thomas and friends; all engines go! Inter-dimensional Access: Twyla is highly capable of traveling to the dimension of The Dream Pastures, home of the Frightmares. However, she is extremely selfless and kind, to the point where one of her regular days involves undoing her father's doings of giving sleeping children nightmares by feeding on the negative energy projected by these, removing the nightmares from their dreams. Twyla will do this to children in most need to top it off, such as kids in foster homes. However, Twyla has worked hard to make her own friendships and has become quite tight with some of the students at Monster High, like Invisi Billy, who shares her interests and power to turn invisible, being co-founders of the Disappearing Club, or Catty Noir, who is also part of said club. She also has a sweet friendship with Rochelle Goyle who she really likes. Reality Manifestation: Dreams manifested in the dreamworld can be manifested into the real world as shown in Boogey Nightmare. The Bogeyman (/ˈboʊɡimæn, ˈbʊɡi-/; also spelled boogeyman, bogyman, bogieman, boogie monster or boogie man) is a mythical creature used by adults to frighten children into good behavior. Dream-Walking: Twyla can enter dreams by going into the dreamworld. She can affect the dream or nightmare the person is having. It's currently unknown how she can affect the dream, but as seen in " Nightmare Scare, it's most likely through encouraging words, might make the nightmare stop.
