As a team we’ve worked hard to take our learnings from God of War (2018) and improve upon combat to feel fresh, yet familiar. With God of War Ragnarök, one of our main goals was to push player choice incombat. Whether it’s through hard hitting combos, a mastery of elements, or clever defensive tactics–you will find plenty of opportunity to fight alongside our duo in a way that feelsuniquely expressive. Together,Kratosand Atreus will have to make a choice about which path they will take. Whatever they choose will define the fate of all those living in the Nine Realms as Ragnarök approaches.

The artworks are absolutely beautiful and there is a lot to see. The 3D sculpts are amazingly detailed, as are most of the artworks. The text is quite sparse and just enough to give you some insight to the designs. We’re so happy to finally be able to share a small taste of what we’ve been working on over at Santa Monica Studio since the release of God of Warin2018. This next installment in the series will bring you a more diverse, beautiful, and mysterious variety of locations than in any other God of War game.

The core of combat is still balancing the focused icy damage of Kratos' Leviathan Axe to wail on single enemies, while the fiery hell of his Blades of Chaos burn everything around you. The enchantment system, which let you add buffs to gear in the previous game, has now been moved to a single amulet that can take nine enchantments. Each one buffs different stats like health, damage, and so on, but come as part of a trio – matching two or three of the set then powers up a different perk. It's much easier to manage a build in Ragnarok, particularly as different armor sets are more clearly focused on damage, cooldowns, Runic (magic) and other key stats.
