Eleanor: The support on the heel is a bit intense at times and pushes me to land more on the back of the shoe. Most lightweight trainers have a firm ride which makes them only suitable for short, fast runs but the Pegasus Turbo could be used for longer runs as well as short, tempo ones.

The foot is going to want to take the path of least resistance and naturally follow this region where the shoe is has the least rigidity.New Balance Rebel v2 had the perfect length of lace, great midfoot lockdown, breathability, light, plush fuelcell foam, whilst the v3 got short laces, narrow fit, and lost its wow factor the v2 had. It’s fast and isn’t overly cushioned, so if you like that ground feel while running, you’ll appreciate this shoe.

Again, on foot, I’m not a fan of the upper changes, but while running the shoe felt as flexible as the second version. That in no way changed the fit or ride of the shoe, I just needed some slightly higher no show socks.

For longer runs, or longer workouts and threshold runs, I would tend to favor a shoe with a little more stack, even if it is not plated. Might have been the softness of the foam, but unlike running in other shoes I have in my rotation, it didn’t feel like I had this thick barrier between me and the surface. Theres a nice amount of space in the toe box for me which I like — not so much that you have to lock your foot in with the laces, but enough that your toes don’t feel crammed.
