Apollo in the begging crept me out. Even when he was introduced (so before all the events of the main plot) he was a creep. What was about all the portraits? I know you are a Prince but😂 I normally don’t like third person POV but with Stephanie’s writing I actually enjoyed it. It felt true to actual story telling — full of enchantment and intrigue. This had magic, curses, a prophecy, immortal fates, vampires (barely), spells and potions and it focused almost entirely around the idea of hea but at what cost. Anyway I hope he will have a bigger role in the future. I actually think he and Ev can have a really nice friendship if given the chance. I know, I know, I sound half-insane- but get this, I haven't stopped thinking about this book for about three days. I need to get all the creepy and crazy Booksy out of my system. And with that, let's continue All The Ways Booksy Can Fangirl Without Giving The Neighbors Pure Nosebleeds Because Of The High Celine Dion Notes.this felt like a fresh start. i’ve always loved stephanie garber’s writing but it has definitely peaked after caraval. i was expecting so much from this book but overall it fell short for me. my flaws with caraval mainly stemmed from the repetition throughout the story but i didn’t find it to be annoying in this book! considering how hyped up this series is, i’m definitely continuing and preparing myself to get my heart broken by the next book. this book wasnt a bad start to the series so im definitely excited to see how it continues. The ending of OUABH made me immediately start The Ballad of Never After, and a lot of you know what happened to me when I finished that book… I am obsessed with this series for the foreseeable future. ♡ Again, just like with Caraval, this book was written brilliantly. This author has such a way with words, her writing style is IDEAL for writing fantasy! I didn't really find much quote-worthy material, but every separate sentence had a beautiful athmospheric structure. It jumped, hurdled, didn't miss anything, flew, outright told me to clear my schedule BECAUSE I WAS FINISHING THE BOOK IN ONE SITTING and I absolutely followed its instructions. The world was so magical, the chapters arrested my attention and held it hostage for the majority of the book. I adored the premise of how grandiose everything was. I was smiling and giggling whenever the characters would go from mystery to mystery, trying to solve it all. The scent of candied apples and oh, so delicious vials of poison made me all the more interested in the book and my goodness, I didn't regret a thing (okay, maybe I did, but that's not the point). I was on the edge of my seat for everything occurring, swooning into a mount of pillows every five seconds, basically dying over all the new characters and AHHHH, it was beautiful.
