Keep cables away from devices which can introduce noise into them. Here's a short list: copy machines, electric heaters, speakers, printers, TV sets, fluorescent lights, copiers, welding machines, microwave ovens, telephones, fans, electric ovens, dryers, washing machines, and shop equipment. If you intend to make lots of cables, wiring them yourself can also be a considerable cost-saving measure Cat5 and Cat5e cables are available in a wide variety of different lengths. In most cases, Cat5 patch cables tend to be chosen for reasonably short runs (100ft or less), especially if they are stranded core wires.

Once you have established which wiring convention you need to use, complete your RJ45 wiring by following these basic steps:

F/FTP (Foil/Foil Twisted Pair): Both the individual twisted pairs and the cable have an added layer of foil shielding around them Cat5 and Cat5e are two common classifications of Ethernet or network cabling. The Cat5e specification came into widespread use after 2001, before which Cat5 had been the latest standard. There is also a plan to increase the speeds of Cat5e to 5 Gbps over the existing cables, known as the IEEE P802.3bz standard, which also works on Cat6 cabling. Alternatively known as an Ethernet cable or LAN cable, a Cat 5 or category 5 is a network cable that consists of four twisted pairs of copper wire terminated by an RJ-45 connector. The picture shows an example of a Cat 5 cable. U/UTP (Unshielded/Unshielded Twisted Pair): Neither the individual twisted pairs nor the cable has any additional shielding built-in. Only the basic protections - the standard insulation around each twisted wire, and the cable sheath itself - are present

Solid conductor (solid-core) Cat5/Cat5e Ethernet cable tends to be used where longer runs need to be set up to achieve a more reliable and stable permanent wired network. This is more common in office buildings and other professional setups. Applications that involve running outdoor Cat5 cable, or passing it through sections of wall, will often benefit from the use of solid-core wiring.Knowing how to wire an RJ45 connector plug means that you can cut your Ethernet cable to custom lengths. This is handy for neatly managing cables or creating very long runs Cat6a is, for the most part, not that much different from Cat6, but there are some differences worth noting. The cost is about 20-35% higher than Cat6, but the maximum cable length is 100 meters across all systems and conditions for Gigabit Ethernet; it's theoretical top speed is 10 Gbps over 100 meters (330 feet) of cable. The transmission bandwidth is also doubled, from 250 to 500 MHz, and Cat6a cables are often shielded, which makes them ideal for industrial use. Cat7 and beyond Cat5 Cable or Category 5 Cable is the type of networking cable made by twisting the internal wires. That is why it is also known as Twisted pair networking cable. The most commonly used form of Cat5 cable is Cat5e cable which supports the network bandwidth of up to 100MHz. The cable transfers data with the speed of 1000 BASE-T, i.e., gigabit ethernet speed. Also, with virtually all consumer gear, such as routers, motherboards and Ethernet cards, max out at 1000 megabits or 1 Gbps. So for the time being, and likely years to come, the typical user will not be able to take advantage of the 10 Gbps and faster speeds of the Cat6a and higher cables. U/FTP (Unshielded/Foil Twisted Pair): The individual twisted pairs each have their layer of additional foil shielding around them, but the cable only has the basic outer sheathing
