It's interesting and clever, but it's also a cheaply formatted lecture series consisting of 70 page blocks of mostly uninterrupted text which hops almost randomly from idea to idea.

It's so well organized and presented, together with a detailed introduction, that you feel like you're a part of the live-audience. I will know for sure by asking the right questions and observing attentively how they 'go inside' and access the information to receive an answer. I feel reframing is a must-have technique for any person who is interested in getting past problems and obtaining the most out of life.

With opposing views, you can reframe the two responses as alternate ways of getting an agreeable outcome. in a few sessions, make changes in the interactions of couples, families and organizations so that they function in ways that are more satisfying and productive, cure many physical problems, not only most of those recognized as “psychosomatic” but also some that are not – in a few sessions.

I'm certainly intrigued to read more of Bandler and Grinder and follow some of the other threads introduced to me in these pages. The extreme basics of the technique involves touching someone while getting him or her to elicit specific emotions. This kind of solipsistic reasoning about abounds, and greatly detracts from the author’s credibility throughout.

You can also detect in others, through their body language, and particularly their eyes mouvement, wheter or not they tell the truth or are constructing a story. Ten years later I met Fritz Peris and immersed myself in gestalt therapy because it seemed to be more effective than most other methods. Most of it dealt with non-verbal communication, in contrast to "Structure of Magic" and other NLP texts.

About 90% of what goes on in therapy is changing the kinesthetic responses that people have to auditory and visual stimuli. I am probably a little partial because I truly appreciate the author of this book and what he had done on so many levels. Instead of creating pleasant anchors through touch when they are happy, couples usually anchor each other into unpleasant states. Frogs into Princes (1979) is the first-ever comprehensive book on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). But some of the most important areas his work has touched is still just being discovered in the cognitive behavior and alternative health industry. That structure can then be quickly taught to others to give them the foundation for that same ability. I'm not saying NLP is bollocks, and I think this book is a brilliant start up if you want to get into it, it just looks really weak if compared to any scientific finding. Nonetheless, Frogs Into Princes covers the foundations of NLP if you can get past its complex terminology.

The question I would like you to ask is 'will the part of me responsible for pattern X communicate with me in consciousness? Most parts of the book are difficult to understand because of the terminology used so a lot of “newbie” communicators will struggle to get the most out of the book. In fact, I did my own sample-size-of-one experiment with an unsuspecting subject: the results were less than spectacular. NOTE: The following part of this review will be repeated from other NLP Reviews I post by the same author.

There are some good reminders and technique here, including hypnotic dialogue used on the audience that isn't directly highlighted. If you don’t mind more “complex” reads or you think your communication skills are pretty advanced, then you’re sure to get a lot out of this book and I recommend it for you. That's a comment about not being creative enough in the application of it, and not having enough sensory experience to accept all the cues that are there [emphasis mine]. Mental patients don’t seem to have a strategy to know what constitutes shared reality A hallucination is taking input from the outside, combining it with an internal response and then assuming it all came from outside.
