At the end of the battle, if the Defender’s Commander has all of its Wounds remaining, the Defender scores 1VP.

Kill Team: Octarius Has Sunday Preview – Adjust Your Scopes, Kill Team: Octarius Has

The end result is one I’m pretty happy with – it’s colorful and detailed without looking too uniform, and the whole thing took an hour or so, not counting time for things like waiting for the Agrax to dry. This is easy enough to replicate that I’ll do the rest of it this way, though I’ll probably vary up the colors on the signs and panels, since the red/yellow/blue aspect is the one thing I’m not super happy with. The board is billed as being double-sided and, indeed, it is. However, the obverse/reverse are a little disappointing, given that they’re almost identical to look at. Both depict a dusty battlefield studded with slightly different ruins. There’s no real variation in the colour or contents between each scheme.

The first thing I read online about the new Kill Team Starter Set was: Kill Team: Octarius light. And I can see where this is coming from, because similar to the launch boxes and starter sets of the current editions of Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar, this is a trimmed-down but more affordable set based on an existing set of models. Chapter Approved comes with 18 missions – nine each for Incursion- and Strike Force-sized games – as well as new and updated secondary objectives, letting you flex your tactical skill against worthy opponents on an equal footing. The rules for this kill team can be found in the Ashes of Faith book or in Kill Team Annual 2023. You can read our guide for these avatars of the Emperor’s will here. Chaos Cult So, to recap, the Kill team: Octarius box set comes with just about everything you could ever need to set yourself up with an Ork Kommandos or DKoK Kill Team, and a few extra bits to ensure that your games of Kill Team can happen on an interesting battlefield.

Octarius Sector is Hell and It’s All Inquisitor Kryptman The Octarius Sector is Hell and It’s All Inquisitor Kryptman

All the tokens are double-sided and often display different icons to denote different things. We’re not going to get into this now, we’ll be here until the next Kill Team release, and I’ll probably have to do it all over again for that.

All in all, the components and models of Kill Team: Octarius are fantastic. I can’t wait to paint the models and provide you with detailed tutorials. If the changes to gameplay and roster-building are really what the people wanted from a new edition, we’ll see. Don’t be biased and give the new edition a chance, from what I’ve seen there are a lot of clever ideas that are worth to be given a try. Although the floor of a typical Ork settlement is littered with all manner of scrap and rubbish that operatives can simply walk over, particularly large piles can build up into truly taxing obstacles. We’re not quite sure what this Scrap Pile is made of, but its Scramble trait means anyone hoping to move over it will find it particularly difficult.
