Erected by John Sproat, in Kempleton, in memory of Jane McTaggart his spouse, who died 26th December 1803, aged 48 years. Also his son Isaac, who died 6th March 1800, aged 6 months. Also his son John, who died 1st November 1822, aged 31 years. Also his daughter Isabella, who died 11th Novb’r 1824, aged 34 years. And William his son, who died at Kempleton, 12th Jan. 1850, aged 63 years. The above John Sproat, late in Kempleton, who died 22nd Dec'r 1850, aged 93 years. George Dillon is considered by many to be the finest exponent of Physical Theatre in the UK. In twenty years of occasionally watching him perform, I have seen nothing that would counter that claim. In fact, if anything, his shows continue to improve with time. Daisy had bought her son a motorbike for his birthday, and it is said that he was ungreatful and unappreciateve of this. Sacred to the memory of Hugh Stewart Campbell, Commander of the ship ' Ranee' of Liverpool, who died at Louis, Mauritius, on the 1st of August 1851 in the 34th year of his age. For what is your life, it is even a vapour, that appeareth, for a little time and then vanisheth away. James IV Ch., and XIV. v.

Millin, S.G.L. (1934). Three Men Die: A Novel by Sarah Gertrude Millin. Chatto & Windus . Retrieved 16 October 2019. Also Jane Penelope, her sister, who died at Torquay, South Devonshire, 19th February 1860, aged 19 years. The above William Sproat, who died at Borness, November 13th 1870, aged 71 years. Also two sons who died in infancy, John, June 1831 & John, June 5th 1835. Also the above Jane McGill, relict of the above William Sproat, who died at Kirkcudbright, 4th Feb. 1892, aged 84 years. Also their daughters, Isabella Brown Sproat, who died at Kirkcudbright, 21st April 1899, aged 56 years, and Elizabeth Messenger Sproat, who died at Kirkcudbright, 12th April 1915, aged 77 years. And Agnes Eleanor Sproat, wife of W O D Welsh, who died at Parkstone, Dorset, 1st Dec. 1919, aged 75 years, and there was buried. Also Jessie, their daughter, wife of C J Clover, who died at Birkenhead, 25th February 1930, aged 81 years, and was there buried. Erected by Margaret Watson, in memory of her husband Robert Watson, lightkeeper at Little Ross, who was drowned 5th April 1864, aged 35 years. And their son William R. Watson, who died 11th June 1863, aged 10 months.Stunning the Punters (& Other Stories) is one man on a bare stage giving a bravura high-energy performance in three tales of imagination run wild: Master of Café Society by Steven Berkoff; Stunning the Punters by Robert Sproat and Dillon’s own adaptation of The Dream of a Ridiculous Man by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Dillon’s virtuosity made other on-man shows appear narrower in range. Randall Stevenson, TIMES LITERARY SUPPLEMENT, 31 August 1990

TUCSON, Ariz. –Last week, a federal jury found Jeffrey D. McHatton, 68, of Chandler, Arizona, and Robert B. Sproat, 60, of Mesa, Arizona, guilty on 10 counts of Securities Fraud. The case was tried before United States District Judge Rosemary Márquez. Sentencing is scheduled for September 28, 2022. Prior to trial, a third co-defendant, Robert Moss, 56, of Gilbert, Arizona, pleaded guilty to his involvement in the scheme and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. On the third count, however, he had come to the "inescapable conclusion" that De Melker had murdered her son. This was evident because: Front) Here lies Mary Wilson, spouse to James Sharp in Ross, who died March 30th 1768, aged 66 years. Also Jean and Nicolas Sharps, their children. Also the above James Sharp, who died 12th March 1785, aged 77 years. Rhodes Cowle had died of arsenic poisoning The coffee flask held traces of arsenic The accused had put the arsenic into the flask The defense of suicide was untenable When the judge finally turned to pass sentence on de Melker, her face whitened but she still proclaimed her innocence. His first piece is a new work from Steven Berkoff, Master of Cafe Society and Dillon is a natural heir to Berkoff’s stylised upfront acting techniques. the play centres round an out of work actor’s lonely breakfast vigil among the hurly burly of the city’s early morning workers. Here lyes John Carson of Balmangan, aged 59 years, who died ye 3d of Feb'y 1724. Here also lies Mrs Margaret Blair, firstly spouse to the above John Carson of Balmangan, afterwards to Mr John Gordon. She died Feb'y 6th 1763, aged 71 years. There has been a fervent return to favour of the daring bravura style of acting lately and Mr Dillon is cast in such a mould. He performs three quite dissimilar one-act monologues with a riveting physical swagger and bravado. Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse. Sacred to the memory of Hugh Jamieson Thomson, beloved husband of Jeanie Crosbie Cook, who died at Johnstone, Renfrewshire, 28th Jan 1939, aged 46 years. Also the above Jeanie Crosbie Cook, who died at Dumfries, 6th June 1967, aged 71 years.

Awesome physical control, enviable vocal range and precision, faultless timing, and the ability to effect startling changes of mood almost in mid-sentence are some of the technical attributes demonstrated by the Berkoff-inspired actor George Dillon in his extraordinary one-man triple bill. What gives the show its guts though, is the emotional depth and complex humanity that Dillon also brings to each of the characters he portrays. Fact 10 - 1745: Bonnie Prince Charlie attempts to claim the British throne but is defeated at the Battle of Culloden In memory of William Brown, who died at Argrennan, in the Parish of Tongland, on the 3rd of Sept. 1821, aged 75 years. Also Alexander Brown, his son, who died on the 18th of May 1810, aged 18 years. It is also noted that further research has been done,. that Daisy was possibly set up by those that gave evidence in court against her, as they had financial gains. She may have been a "scape-goat" or may not have 'worked alone" She did however, make their coffee in the flasks when the two of them went fishing. She joined a very exclusive club when she was sentenced to death by hanging and that sentence was carried out at Pretoria Central Prison on December 30th 1932. In 1993, a television mini-series was made about Daisy de Melker, with Susan Coetzer in the title role.[4] The De Melker trial lasted thirty days. Sixty witnesses were called for the Crown and less than half this number for the defence. To present the forensic evidence, the Crown employed the services of Dr. J.M. Watt, an expert toxicologist and professor of pharmacology at Witwatersrand University. In summing up, before giving his verdict, the judge pointed out that the Crown had been unable to prove conclusively that Cowle and Sproat had died of strychnine poisoning. "It does not convince me, nor does it convict the accused," he said. [5]
