Once you get these two open, the rest are relatively plain sailing. They are ALL the same, all the way round; even at the ends. Pressure on the top plate inside the gap releases them. The bottom compartment is over them. System SAT is UK's Leading Satellite Specialist have been trading online for more than 8 years, we are proud to have served over 150,000 customers since 2005. Brilliant, thanks. My OK button was playing-up but after opening the Remote (following your instructions) and cleaning it, all is OK now. Twenty odd Pounds saved on a replacement Remote. Thanks for taking the time to look. Unfortunately the source button doesn't do anything from the RM-F01, when used with the code 108 but it does light up the audio button, so a signal is being sent. The other two codes do nothing from the sources button. Remember that everything is carried by the upper plate (the circuit board and button rubber is lightly clipped to it); including the battery springs which should lift out of their holders as you prise the cases apart.

So it's not the remote. Thanks just tried it again - yes my HD remote does use the 4 digit codes - you have to press OK after each code to then test it - it doesn't send a power off after entering the 4 digits as stated in the manual which makes it slower to find the correct code. Start in the middle and work carefully upwards and downwards. The remote control has gathered dirt which has led to keys that need quite a lot of force to be activated. I'd like to clean it up, but I simply cannot open the case. There are no screws, no clips, nothing. The battery compartment doesn't reveal anything either. It looks and feels as if it has been glued together, but that doesn't make sense. I have tried putting in the code for the 'TV' again, but I didn't expect much as the issue is with the 'PVR' option of the remote. Is there any way to reset the remote? Or any way to re-input the PVR code. Press and hold the 0 and OK buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds until the PVR button on the remote stays red. One man's seldom-use buttons can be another man's essential buttons. The RM-109U can not pause the HD(R) Fox T2. It also cannot pause a DTR-T1010.When handling the PCB be careful not to touch the board printed circuit or the on board chip with bare fingers as I would be a bit concerned that ones body static may damage the chip. I am not sure how static tolerant chips are these days; it used to be a problem some years ago, where static could destroy electronic chips. Of course if one earth’s themselves, (I do it by touching the bare steel frame of my PC that happens to have the cover off), then there is no problem. Your typical remote uses plastic clips molded into the body to hold the top and bottom halves together. Sometimes, you might need to push in either the top or bottom edge along the seam to help pop the clips apart.

RM-F01 OK Button Erratic Operation - My Humax Remote Control RM-F01 OK Button Erratic Operation - My Humax

Having bought a replacement Remote, as the original was hit and miss after 7 years wear, the brand new replacement fails to initialise to the TV or DVD!!

I followed Philip Bradbury's method and it worked perfectly, without any lugs broken. It took me about 1/4hour in all to do - don't be scared to try it - you shouldn't to force it off. I first removed the batteries for safety. The top and bottom are totally separate (no wires) when they come apart. There were no screws holding this remote together
