Vincent, Brittany (19 October 2018). "Go For It, Nakamura! [Review]". Otaku USA . Retrieved 6 October 2019. Nakamura also seems more comfortable talking to Kawamura than any other characters, baring a rarely seen content expression when interacting with her. They however, do not interact with each other on a daily basis, only doing so when Nakamura asks her for drawing requests or bumping into each other during class.

From his classmate's perspective, he is seen as creepy, gloomy, and often plain and forgettable. In Chapter 5, Kawamura's friends compare him to a face drawn on a shimeji mushroom. Nakamura is also shown very emotionally sensitive, such as shedding a tear when Kawamura gives him the manga he requested, getting excited when spots his beloved octopus in the Yokohama aquarium, or being unable to calm himself down when flustered. Additionally, Nakamura can act without thinking when in his emotional state, such as when he fell down a large construction hole in front of him in an attempt to save Hirose, or when he vandalizes on a wall out of despair despite a sign stating "Do not graffiti." hanging on top of him. Amber Tamosaitis’s translation for Seven Seas captures just the right tone of voice for Nakamura and his tumultuous feelings (and Japanese honorifics are used throughout). Kudos to Seven Seas for striking out into BL territory; this is their first title and as it has a Teen rating, makes an ideal addition to any library, high school or otherwise, seeking to expand its LGBT resources. Go For It, Nakamura! was positively received by critics. The series was praised for its 1980s-reminiscent artwork, with Sean Gaffney of Manga Bookshelf favorably comparing it to Ranma ½ and Kimagure Orange Road. [1] Anthony Gramuglia noted in his review of the series for Anime Feminist that Go For It, Nakamura! is "part of a new wave of [boys' love] manga that are more about identity than sex." [2] Reviewing the series for Otaku USA, Brittany Vincent praised the series' romantic comedy elements, calling Go For It, Nakamura! a "special treat for LGBT audiences eager for a sweet, retro-flavored romantic comedy." [3]E a arte? Ela é, sem dúvidas, perfeita. O traço me agradou muito, todos os quadrinhos bem limpos visualmente e agradáveis, sem contar nos detalhes, achei tudo muito fofo! Me remeteu muito a quadrinhos antigos. E outra: COMO TODOS OS PERSONAGENS PODEM SER TAO BONITOS? Each chapter follows this format, where Nakamura attempts to integrate himself into situations that would allow him to interact with Hirose, most ending in comedic failure. New classmates such as Kawamura Hifumi, Oomori, and Tamura Arandou would be introduced as the series goes on, indirectly helping on Nakamura's journey. Icchan is Nakamura's pet octopus, and he cares and loves it a lot. Icchan also appears in one of Nakamura's dreams, which can be interpreted that Nakamura thinks about Icchan often. Icchan also escapes his tank seemingly quite often and once even latching onto Nakamura's face while he is sleeping, in which Nakamura dismisses it and forgives Icchan for it.

Me? Cheating my way out of my Goodreads Reading Goal by reading this short fluffy manga? Haha! I don't know what you're talking about~ This isn't one of those gay mangas where one man is super effeminate and submissive whilst the other one is dominating and rapey either. Know why? Because (spoiler alert), actual romantic relationships don't work like that. Nope, instead the power-dynamics aren't really skewed in anyone favor and the relationship actually develops slowly over time. This was such a sweet and short read. Ganbare Nakamura-kun! is about Nakamura's pursuit for Hirose's friendship, of all things!!! He's in love with him, of course, and he fantasizes about them together, but he doesn't jump straight into a possible relationship between the two. He first and foremost wants to be his friend. ZAKKが目玉のコラボカフェが3/16オープン!". Commercial BL Portal Chill Chill (in Japanese). 8 March 2018 . Retrieved 6 October 2019. Nakamura bears a one-sided crush on Hirose and is always achieving to get closer to him. During the beginning of the story, Nakamura is very self-conscious around Hirose, fearing that Hirose will avoid him if he makes some sort of mistake. Due to this, he hides a lot about himself such as how he loves octopus and how he likes reading BL books. Nonetheless, he cares a lot about Hirose, worrying when he had a stomach and risking his life to protect Hirose from the delinquents.

is very non-conish and that's a turn off to me. But Nakamura-Kun! is more fluffy, it has sort of an even "innocent" kind of crush. I think even people who are not into BL could end up liking it. Each chapter follows this format, where Nakamura attempts to integrate himself into situations that would allow him to interact with Hirose, most ending in comedic failure. New classmates such as Kawamura Hifumi, Oomori, and Tamura Arandou would enter his life as the series goes on, indirectly helping on Nakamura's journey. Go For It Again, Nakamura! takes place after the conclusion of Go For It, Nakamura! where the two boys, Nakamura and Hirose, became friends. Nakamura continues to seek his goal of becoming closer with Hirose and sees becoming friends with him as a big motivator. This manga has a light tone with a lot of focus on comedy. The characters are simple but serve their purpose (comedy) and most importantly, the characters aren't just vehicles for fap-material, they are written as actual human-beings. The main character for example has a lot of fun quirks about him and the Go For It Again, Nakamura!! (もっとガンバレ! 中村くん!! Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!) is a Japanese manga series written by Syundei. The manga continues off from the previous title Go For It, Nakamura! Seven Seas Licenses Go For It, Nakamura! Manga". Anime News Network. 20 September 2017 . Retrieved 6 October 2019. Finally, some decent shounen ai. A lot of anime and/or manga with gay men in the lead roles just turns into shitty, often rapey fan-service for women. It's not very fun to look at and good writing or entertaining characters are often sacrificed in the name of fan-service. This one is different. rose-tinted glasses, this was the real and bloody hilarious highschool experience in all it's glorious awkwardnes which 99% of people will probably be able to relate to in some form

Media [ edit ] Manga [ edit ] Like I said, you won't get much content in terms of plot, this is just 11 chapters of him overcoming himself and getting close to his crush. This volume ended with them being real friends, which was definitely a step up for someone as timid as Nakamura. I'm actually glad that the story didn't end up with them being together. It was actually a befitting ending considering the amount of time they hang out together. Maybe in the sequel, it was time for Nakamura to step up more, but this volume is short but satisfying personally.

Around the period of March 2021, many parodies of the cover were created as a trend. Most cover parodies replaced the characters of the series for characters of other franchises. [5] while not screamingly hilarious, its funny... like genuinely funny. a lot of manga hit and miss with humour, not necessarily because the jokes are bad but because there is certainly limitation to manga as a medium, as there is with any medium, that usually prevent manga from getting more than a Beginning in the June 2015 issue of Opera, Go For It, Nakamura! would began serialization as a regular series, celebrated with the main character Nakamura being featured as the cover of the issue. The series also began running at the same time as Syundei's horror manga series Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart.
