And when the happy pair announce that they are already engaged and planning to marry in six weeks so that terminally ill Joyce can attend the wedding, Ed is determined to make private enquiries to find out if Ryan, a decorated former Army officer and special policeman, is lying about who and what he is. It turned out he’d been lying through his teeth and had burned his family home to the ground as an 11-year-old in Canada, killing his parents and sister Stacey. The thriller novel was released in 2020 and has gained a lot of fans since, and no doubt the show will too! After a few years I managed to secure representation from Camilla Bolton at the Darley Anderson Agency, and in January 2017 my first thriller Lies was published.

Her specialist areas including literature, the British Royal Family and knowing all there is to know about the latest TV shows on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and every streaming service out there. Ed teams up with Abbie's ex-boyfriend, George to investigate Ryan's history and is startled at what he finds. This four-part thriller follows a fisherman whose family life seems to spiral out of control when his daughter goes out with a shady new boyfriend. When his beloved 24-year-old daughter arrives with her boyfriend of seven months, doting dad Ed Collier is ready to try to like him.He senses there is so wrong about Ryan so is particularly concerned when the couple say they are engaged and more so when they announce a wedding a mere seven months away, allegedly because Abbie's grandmother has cancer and Abbie wants her to be at the wedding. M Logan books I've read, this one was perhaps a little darker than the others and it felt like the author was stretching out some muscles and testing the water.

He will stop at nothing to protect his daughter Abbie, so Ed begins to investigate Ryan and a fantastic mystery begins. BACK ON THE BOX The Ex Wife viewers ‘switch off’ as drama is ‘giving them déjà vu’ Where is The Catch set? Abbie Collier might think that Ryan Wilson is "The One" but her father Ed can't help suspecting he's lying to them all. The story was mostly told from his perspective which would've been interesting if he had at least an iota of intelligence. The rest of the family believe that Ryan is the perfect catch, so whys Ed's intuition telling him something different?

Ed’s on a journey with Claire because he has a secret which he has never shared with her, and he fears being honest will destroy her. But he decides to go to great lengths to prove Ryan is not who he says he is, and risks everything to do so. I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age.

That was when I decided to take the plunge into writing full-time, which I have been doing since summer 2017. But the change of location means that unless the characters travel up to the Peak District as the episodes go on, Ryan’s Dark Peak burial ground is currently seeming unlikely to feature in the show. Tim was born in Berkshire and studied in London and Cardiff before becoming a national newspaper journalist.I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my request, from Bonnier Books/ Zaffre via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion. The Catch is based on the novel of the same name by TM Logan, and is is the second of Logan's books that Channel 5 has adapted, after The Holiday was released in March 2022. Plus, there’s the fact that it is based on TM Logan’s bestseller of the same name, which some people raved about but I haven’t read. Three dimensional characters, a family unit under stress, with a tragedy at the heart – all brilliantly framed in the thriller genre. But will Ed's suspicions prove to be true or will he just show himself as being an over-protective father?
