Was wondering which drawing to choose & what color would be best suited & decided on feathers with blue 'cuz they remind me of sky and sky is blue (most of the time) :) Sometimes the simple things in life are best. Forget high tech, forget digital, or virtual reality. Simply taking a pen or pencil to paper and filling in colour to these beautiful and intricate pieces of art is all you need to relax and feel better about your day.

It took me a while to do this one because I was so busy, but I'm definitely going to take time when I feel stressed to do this while I watch a movie or TV. Wasn't sure 'cuz for the life of me couldn't figure out how to get the snow/winter remains part,after all, the paper is white & snow is white, but little spider saved me The paper itself is not the brightest shade of white...not yet sure if that's good or bad but I'd guess a lighter white would allow to better see the brightness of colors? Something along those lines. I used fine, fine tip Sharpies and Crayola color pencils. The competition is judged by Johanna Basford, the illustrator of The Enchanted Forest and her previous best selling grown up colouring book The Secret Garden. As with her earlier book, I love that even the inside of the dust cover as well as the cover of the book itself give me an opportunity to spend hours coloring. There are so many wonderful woodland creatures to color, I could (and will) spend many hours with this book.

No deadline in sight. It appeals to my love of creativity without being too taxing. When your focus is narrowed to which colour will look prettiest and why there's only so many greens available among your chosen pencils then the things that bother you can sometimes be left outside the printed lines. The grown up colouring trend is taking the country by storm at the moment. I love it as a way to relax, and have noticed so many of my friends getting into the colouring habit too. And who can blame them – why should the children get all the fun? Colouring in is the perfect relaxing creative activity for all ages! I need to find a better lamp to use while photographing when there's no natural light, this one gave yellowish hue Thou I had to pay veeery close attention so as not to colour outside the lines (and even then it managed to escape twice or thrice) the end result was satisfying. I figured out just how much water is too much so now I can use water on Enchanted Forest too Fans of Leila Duly, Millie Marotta, and Daisy Fletcher will devour Johanna Basford's intricate scenes of flora and fauna.

This is probably one of my favorite pieces so far and I love the concept of just using pinks and blue tones as the basis for the piece. Only one image is printed on each pull–out poster so coloring artists don't have to make an impossible choice between favorites The book is a nice weight of paper but it is not perforated and almost every marker I have bleeds through. I can use my pencils and my gel pens fairly easily. As with most story/adventure/hidden object coloring books, the designs are printed on both sides of the paper. The designs are rather intricate and I find that I like to use my pencils sharpened to a fine point when filling in the smallest of these areas. For now it's just ogling the pretty drawings and doodling at the beginning (where I'll mess around to see how it'll look on the paper) with my totally normal pencils while I research and find just which ones would be best suited for me.
