On release day, Sekiro drew over 108,000 concurrent players on Steam, the highest for a new game launched during January–March 2019 and the third highest of any Japanese game in the platform's history, behind only Monster Hunter: World and Dark Souls III. [45] [46] Later in March, it had reached over 125,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it one of the most played games on the platform at the time. [47]

In its debut week, Sekiro topped the UK and EMEAA (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia) charts, surpassing Tom Clancy's The Division 2. [48] [49] [50] In Japan, the game debuted first, with 157,548 retail units sold in its opening weekend. [51] a b Makuch, Eddie (December 13, 2019). The bell is located at Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo – Demon Bell’s Temple. There is a Sculptor’s Idol at the temple, allowing you to easily return at any time. The following are the two routes to reach the Demon Bell: Gracious Gift of Tears (Bronze): Defeated the “Divine Dragon” and obtained the “Divine Dragon’s Tears”. Miller, James (March 23, 2019). Make your way around this bit of cliff and look up and grapple and ledge grab again. Do some more jumps up the walls and there is a white pinwheel here. Go up higher and open the door. Kill the weird Voldo-like Long-Arm Centipede enemy and go through to grab the Bell Demon’s Temple Idol (you can ring this bell if you want, not sure what it does, I didn’t, I am scared).

It’s an effective reminder that there are still consequences for dying, but because there are ways to bank your money and you don’t lose experience once you’ve reached certain thresholds that convert experience into skill points, the danger is relatively slim. Early on, I just accepted that dying meant losing half my unbanked experience and currency and so I was never bothered by the penalty. To me, the forgiving nature of Sekiro that allows you to usually get out of a bad situation meant that if I let myself die, I probably could have avoided it, and losing my resources was mostly my fault. And in the event Unseen Aid triggered, well, it was just a nice surprise. Since Sekiro is less about managing your resources than it is about raw skill with a sword, I can appreciate the penalty keeping me honest, while also appreciating that I wasn’t truly hamstrung by zigging when I should have zagged.Worst overall content of the series, most bosses and all mini bosses and even some areas get reused multiple times. 3x Ashina castle, really? This is lazy. All the other Souls games have way more content and Elden Ring is probably ten times bigger than Sekiro. Hussain, Tamoor (December 17, 2019). From there, you will reach a dead-end where you can balance on a wooden beam and the snake will be below you, but only if you have already advanced through the Sunken Valley region. To defeat the Great Serpent, simply drop down on the Great Serpent’s head from the path you had followed above to execute it. There is no actual fight, as it will instantly die. As a Shinobi, or ninja, you will unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while you blend stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head to head combat in bloody confrontations. Speaking of the grappling hook, your Shinobi Prosthetic can be upgraded with all kinds of side weapons that can help turn the tide of battle. Each one has its uses and there are plenty to find throughout the game, from a fire blasting Flame Vent to the impenetrable Loaded Umbrella shield. There isn't really a dud among all the Prosthetic Tools, although you'll definitely use some more than others depending on who you're up against and what you prefer. You start at the Dragonspring – Hirata Estate Idol, grapple down the cliff and talk to the NPC before you grapple to the bridge and kill the enemies. On one side of the bridge is a Carp Scale, grab it then jump into the water and swim around to kill two other Carp for their scales. There is a vendor in a barrel on an island who exchanges scales for items in this area. Go to the other side of the bridge and clamber over the wall for the Estate Path Idol.
