The extra challenge was welcome but a bit too little too late as the game itself should really have gradually got harder with the neighbour himself in my opinion.

It was later approved for sale as an early access game by the Steam Greenlight program and a Kickstarter campaign was launched to fund further development. The first episode of the series was released on 11 December 2022, produced by Man of Action, with the rest of the show's episodes being released before the end of 2023. For Halloween 2017, a promotional mod was released including multiple elements from the indie game Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Criticism was directed towards the gameplay, control scheme and technical performance, though it was praised for its story aspects and art style. Each time The Thing attacks and Nicky protects his younger self, Nicky grows larger until he can fight The Thing. She then meets with Nicky Roth and his team the Inventors Club (Maritza, Enzo and Ivan) as they plan to sneak inside his property to figure out what he is hiding. There's no catharsis, insight, or revelations waiting at the end of the ordeal, just a sort of uneasy malaise over what the images and environments near the end are meant to represent. The game choud be acctually better of course, if the developers aren't such lazy and bad by executing it, but it has still recieved a better score than that.

Initially, it looked like a suitable, child’s game but the basic clunky graphics and frustrating gameplay soon wore thin and is no longer played.I feel like the added a little too much story to it and it overcomplicated it, the whole fun of the game was just running through a gigantic house to try and unlock the basement, there's no need for so much story.

Take flight with the Hello-copter, a remote-controlled flying drone equipped with a camera and grappling hook; discover new solutions to old puzzles and experience previously unreachable heights! As I mentioned earlier, sure, you can accidentally throw items whilst your hand is strangely poking its way through a locked door like a ghost, thus allowing you to losre things in the unknown and make them unreachable if you happen to press the wrong button. For example, I was carrying around a couple of keys in act one for a very long time yet in the end, I never even used one of them. So, for the first two chapters, where it’s you vs him, the game is surprisingly relaxed and kind of easy, other than the rather obscure solutions to the puzzles. To be honest though, I personally thought this mechanic, or lack of, made the game more stressful and intense – in a good way. However, I did get enjoyment out of figuring out what I needed to do and pissing off the neighbour by throwing things at his face over, and over again.

It’s very different to your standard adventure games where the protagonist can shove everything, including the kitchen sink, into their pockets as they discover an item they picked up a few hours ago is just what they need to solve a puzzle. It feels like an investigative journalist simulator - sneak around and find out your neighbors' secrets. Download of this product is subject to the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and our Software Usage Terms plus any specific additional conditions applying to this product. The issue with this is that when you combine the fact you’re always holding key items which are crucial to progressing the story, with the fact the controls are a bit fiddly, this can lead to some rather unfortunate accidents, as advised above. One thing you need to be aware of, there are many ways to complete each puzzle/act, which is a great help as it’s very easy to accidentally ‘lose’ a key item and never see it again. Everyone knows the story of Hello Neighbor unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, as you couldn’t look at YouTube without seeing someone talking about or playing the game.
