Description

Bookwagon welcomes, Ajay and the Jaipur Moon to our readers, a welcome companion piece to Ajay and the Mumbai Sun.

Then again, isn’t this industry what unites them and gives them purpose in each of their individual ways? I loved 'Ajay and the Mumbai Sun' and was delighted when the follow up, 'Ajay and the Jaipur Moon' was published. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. But against some of the most powerful forces in the city, can Ajay and his friends really succeed in bringing the truth to light? Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. It's a great adventure with a cast of lovely characters and I enjoyed it just as much or even more than the first one! Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. They need a big story - and when a meteor crashes to Earth, and there's a competition to find it, Ajay and his friends find themselves in a space race to Jaipur!

You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. It was such a pleasure to meet you both, and I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally you ran everything. We loved ‘Ajay and the Mumbai Sun’ in our household and we enjoyed ‘Ajay and the Jaipur Moon’ just as much.So when Ajay sees a cash prize for a competition to be the first to find a meteor that has crashed to Earth in India, their very own space-race to Jaipur is on .

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

As with the first book, I really love the way the story introduces children to difficult concepts such as exploitation, corruption and environmental damage without ever making them feel too heavy or scary. You guys are such a force for good and I am a passionate supporter of Indie booksellers, so I'm so happy this worked out well (I'd love to know how many books were sold if you have it to hand - it felt like quite a lot! When street kid, Ajay, uncovers a scandal that threatens to evict thousands of the poorest people of Mumbai from their homes, he knows he has an important story to tell. Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling.
