Description

She is able to anthropomorphize the lives of little creatures in nature and their adventures and misadventures in the world of huge human figures. I enjoyed entering the little world of Peter Rabbit, and spending time with the cute, furry critters therein. Some of the endings are a bit twee or abrupt, some of them don't seem to have any point at all (like the one about Pig Robinson), and some are just plain boring (like sadly almost any story with a cat in it). Way, way back in the mists of time, back to early childhood, I can remember seeing these stories, in the form of little, hardcover books, and liking them.

She had numerous pets, and through holidays in Scotland and the Lake District, developed a love of landscape, flora, and fauna, all of which she closely observed and painted. This edition includes a section at the end that contains four additional works by Beatrix Potter that were not published in her lifetime. The artwork alone is worth a look, as some of her paintings are quite the portrayal of the perfect country life. Could Audible and/or the publisher please label the different tales by their names rather than as chapter 1,2,3 etc? I was not too familiar with Beatrix Potter when I started reading this book to my granddaughter Cora. The only thing I don't like is that there aren't chapter names, so you don't know which story it is until it starts playing. It's also quite sweet how some of the characters are reoccurring, and the map inside the book cover really makes it feel like Potter created a world of animals and nature within our own world.

Meet again the famous characters that children love and adore: Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, The Flopsy Bunnies, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Tom Kitten, Jeremy Fisher, Jemima Puddle-Duck and many more.Meet the famous characters such as Peter Rabbit, Little Pig Robinson, Squirrel Nutkin, Benjamin Bunny, and Jemima Puddle-Duck. Eu adorei as musiquinhas presentes em alguns dos contos e eu fiquei pensando em ritmos que combinaram com elas e me diverti bastante com isso, eu ainda não li eles em português porque eu queria que o meu primeiro contato fosse na língua original. Scott followed along well but definitely didn’t grasp 100% of each story, which I’m not sad about because that just means we’ll need to read it again next year and maybe the year after that too.

Because she was a woman, her parents discouraged intellectual development, but her study and paintings of fungi led her to be widely respected in the field of mycology. This collection gave me the chance to not only read my favorites again, but also stories that I never did read, and even ones that were never published! At DIY Homeschooler we provide encouragement and resources to those homeschool handy-moms paving their own way — solutions to help you “do-it-yourself” when it comes to tutoring your children. I have tried to play other books in the car but he would scream and wanted to hear this book instead.

Beatrix Potter’s tales began when Peter Rabbit first made his appearance in The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902, followed by 22 other tales that you will find in Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales. Even though I didn't love all the stories and rhymes, seeing all the lovely paintings and drawings by Potter was a delight. The stories would be good to link to science lessons and animals and their habitats, this could lead to interesting discussions surrounding why the animals in the stories wear clothes and have houses. This complete and unabridged collection contains all 23 of Beatrix Potter's tales in one deluxe volume with all their original illustrations. The world of Beatrix Potter is as appealing now as when it was first created at the turn of the twentieth century.

I chose this audio book for my 4 and 6 year old girls as I thought they will soon grow out of these kinds of stories. A pacy story with an engaging hero, an exciting chase and a happy ending, matched with exquisite illustrations, adds up to a children’s classic whose appeal is ageless. The stories inside are: The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, The Tailor of Gloucester, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, The Tale of Two Bad Mice, The Tale of Mrs. Featuring all 23 of the classic tales, this new collection features a range of award-winning and contemporary voices, including Olivia Colman, Tom Hardy, Lily James, James Acaster, David Harewood and Joanna Lumley. It always angers me to see Beatrix Potter books without the original illustrations, so I’m very happy to report that these are the original watercolor illustrations and line drawings for Potter’s complete works.

Born into a wealthy household, Potter was educated by governesses and grew up isolated from other children. The 23 tales in this set have never lost their popularity and sell in their millions all over the world.
