The slightly garish pattern on the cover might not be to everyone’s tastes, but it can be removed to be washed thankfully. it is quite hefty, so moving it in and out of a car regularly isn’t going to be as easy as other options. thanks bertiebotts, there is no chance of her wearing a coat anyway in her seat, she is 5mts but wearing clothes for 9-12 mths, health visitor says there are only 2% of babies at her age that are her size.

I can certainly appreciate your concerns especially as your child's health and safety is extremely important. However, it’s not as sturdy as our other car seat, so it’s a car seat that we’ll only use for short journeys. it is ok, but needs a good deal of force to get it secure with the seatbelt (otherwise wobbles), but is ok once in. If you want to keep costs down, though, then the seat can be attached using a standard three-point seatbelt. Despite its name, the Nania doesn’t convert to a booster seat – this is another all-in-one affair that is aimed at toddlers and older children. These brackets are located between the backrest and the seat of the back seat and are connected to the car body. We had a Britax First Class for ds1 when he was around 5/6mth (dh snapped the polystyrene on it so we didn't bother saving it for dc2. This partially depends on the car, but generally speaking the middle of the back seat is the safest place. The Nania Trio Car Seat is installed into your car using a 3-point car seat belt, and can be positioned rearward facing from 0-10kg, then forward facing from 9-25kg.

Because it is aimed at newborns, this seat can be fitted either forward or rearward facing, and it straps in with a three-point seat belt in either case. We will support any changes to the legislations and are happy to work with the industry to advise on how we can make this happen.

Oh that has reassured me, sazm :) DS goes in one of these seats in his childminder's car occasionally - she only ever drives short distances and wouldn't be doing more than 30 anyway due to the roads, but I was a bit dubious having read so many bad things about them.

I haven't seen that particular seat used, but the belt path looks like it would secure the seat in forward facing mode.Like all the seats in this list, the Chaffinch isn't i-Size compliant, hence why it's forward facing only. Most airlines do accept seats without the airline specific approval as long as they can be belt fitted. As with some of the other simple seats, it is forward facing only, though, so it will be less supportive for younger children and parents may want to keep their little ones facing backwards until they get to 15 months old. There was also a story on Facebook about a little boy who broke both of his legs in an accident when he was travelling in one of these car seats.

One benefit of an infant carrier like this is portability – it has a handle to easily get it out of the car when your little one is sleeping at the end of a journey. Here the child is as far away as possible from the sides and thus best protected in case of an accident. As with many, it comes with the basics – a five-point harness, an adjustable head support and padded sleeves on the harness to give some extra comfort on the child’s shoulders. For those that want a dedicated infant seat that comes with a little more cocooning, this Group 0+ seat sits your little one facing backwards for up to the first 15 months of their car-travelling life, or until they are 13kg. There aren't any seats on the market any more that can be fitted with a lap belt, that's the problem.
