Chaos Terminators. If you’re taking Abaddon, you often want him accompanied by a large (10 models) unit of Terminators. They give him a ton of ablative wounds to work with, and they’re just a solidly durable unit to work with besides. Leading them all, the fearsome Chaos Lord Khalos the Ravager* maintains discipline by sheer force of will and violent example. His huge thunder hammer is frightening to behold, and with this many points of articulation he’ll be able to pull off some impressive poses while crushing skulls for his dark masters. The red line represents the centre of the base, or the bottom of the feet/foot. This isn’t as easy as it seems due to how the models are posed or positioned on the base. Three of the legion’s finest are teleporting into action wearing mighty suits of Terminator armour, presenting a real danger to even the Ultramarines’ huge Invictor Warsuits. For reference, I made a few more scale comparisons with Horus Heresy MkVI beakie Marines and multiple other Firstborn armour marks, as well as old and new Cadians and other human-sized models. While these are some of the largest terminators, the Aquilon being the largest of all them all, these are also the most divergent from the classic IndoHow are you looking to load out your chaos terminators given the new points? What would you suggest for the above role? Bloodletters • Plaguebearers • Horror of Tzeentch • Daemonette • Nurglings • Beast of Nurgle • Plague Drone • Flamer • Screamer Cypher is also an excellent objective holder because of his Lone Operative rule. If you want more Lone Operatives, allied Daemons are an option worth considering. The Changeling and Blue Scribes are worth considering in most lists, and Nurglings are nearly a must-have for doing actions. How Does This Faction Handle Enemy Hordes? This deadly combination of devastating anti-personnel firepower and clout in close quarters fighting makes a Chaos Terminator a deadly and highly-feared opponent. Some of these Chaos Space Marines carry heavier and more powerful weapons such as the double-barrelled Reaper Autocannon and the terrifying Heavy Flamer to provide supporting fire for their comrades.

Choice of icon is very important for terminators. They improve their abilities in one of two ways. Either they increase their combat ability or increase their durability. Squad size and cost are very important when considering icons because you pay a static price for them no matter how many members there are. Generally speaking the more expensive icons (icon of tzneetch and icon of nurgle) are best used with larger squads to help spread the cost and lessen the dangers of wound allocation. When it comes to Mark of Chaos, each Mark of Chaos has 3 things: A psychic power (minus Khorne), an icon, and a stratagem. There is one clear winner when it comes to Mark of Chaos. There is one clear loser. The other two are in the middle. The weapons combinations available to Chaos Terminators combined with their fearsome armor make them terrifying opponents to fight against. While not the swiftest of troops, they can use a Land Raider to travel across the battlefield to positions in which their weaponry will make the best impact. Otherwise, they can teleport through the use of arcane technology or sorcerous powers. Often they appear ready to strike, giving their foes little chance to react.

There are some very powerful units in the Chaos Space Marines Index, and while you don’t need all of them, you will need to build around at least a few of them to have something competitively viable. Here are the units you’ll generally be looking at as you start to build your lists: Apply a wash to the entire model to add depth and shading. Use a wash specifically designed for your chosen color, such as a dark shade or ink. Gently brush it over the areas where shadows naturally occur, such as recesses and crevices. The wash settles into these areas, creating realistic shadows. It’s time to shelve your Lords Discordant. The model had a fantastic run from its debut in 8th edition up to now, but unfortunately the sun seems to have set on this guy. I’m sure there’s a cost point where he’s worth taking but he just doesn’t have the staggering damage output he used to have – particularly when it comes to trying to take down enemy vehicles. The armour of the Traitor Legions reflect the turbulent times of the Horus Heresy when older marks of power armour were used to replace losses, as well as scavenging and cannibalising armour from the battlefields. Often times they feature distinctive studded and riveted plasteel plates rather than the smoother ceramite armour of later designs. Presented here are some templates for common types of terminator squads. They have all be equipped to perform best at one thing, with the exception of the balanced squads, who are designed to perform well at a range of roles. These are not absolutes, but rather suggestions as to how terminator squads can be fielded. Termicide Squads
