We continue the MinisForum HX99G review with an overview of the technical specifications and some tests. CPU

Time to wrap up the MinisForum HX99G review with my thoughts. Straight off the bat I have to say this is a very impressive gaming mini PC! While it is a little larger than your usual mini PC, it’s nowhere near the size of the larger NUCX models which are its main competitors. A gaming mini PC should have a small form factor and the MinisForum HX99G fits into this category just fine. We've seen plenty of brands brandishing the word 'Game' for Mini systems when they've only integrated GPUs. And while these have been getting progressively better, they don't yet compete with even the lowest rung on the discrete graphics card ladder. We can see again at 4K resolution that the HX99G gaming mini PC is in 3rd place, and at 1080P the HX99G jumps up to 2nd place with the NUCXi7 still in front. But at 720P the HX99G takes a massive leap ahead of the NUCXi7. Very impressive and a great frame rate if you play at 720P! Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 We also want to emphasize positively the low emission values of the Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G under load. The device is relatively quiet, even though there are two fans that blow the heat from the case. Our test unit was able to run through all our tests with a solid performance and without any larger missteps. In terms of the system performance, it is able to keep up with regulardesktop PCs, and the gaming performance is also respectable due to the AMD Radeon RX 6600M.We've seen the Ryzen 7 7735HS before in other Mini PCs, and it's a very impressive processor offering eight cores and sixteen threads and a default TDP range of 35 to 54W. As this isn't a laptop with a battery, this version gets to use its full 54W envelope, and it also gets the benefit of not using the Radeon 680M integrated GPU but the independently powered RX 6600M. The elaborate carbon fibre adorned enclosure can either lay flat on two rubber strips on the underside or be placed vertically on an included wedge-shaped foot. Sadly, this machine is too big to be VESA mounted. This cookie, set by YouTube, registers a unique ID to store data on what videos from YouTube the user has seen. As for the storage, users can build their own RAM up to 64 GB. Besides the default M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD (up to 2 TB) slot, an extra M.2 2280 SSD slot (Support NGFF SATA or NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD) is also provided for expansion. Each piece of hardware has passed a strict quality inspection and met the factory's standards before it is delivered to Minisforum. In addition, there is no difference in the warranty policies of these hardware suppliers.

The MinisForum HX99G Mini PC for productivity takes your computing performance to the next level with its remarkable memory and storage capabilities. Supporting DDR5 dual-channel memory, it accommodates up to 64GB of RAM, allowing for lightning-fast data access and seamless multitasking. Whether you are running resource-intensive applications or working with complex projects, the MinisForum HX99G memory capacity ensures a smooth and efficient workflow. It looks like the 30 series graphics cards are better at 4K resolutions than the 6600M on the HX99G. Cyberpunk 2077I’m a big fan of the Minisforum HX99G. In fact, it’s difficult to find anything truly wrong with it other than some particular issues with my unit. For example, it seems like the model I received struggles with display output inconsistencies, where it simply won’t output to any monitor from any of the HDMI or USB4 ports. I never did figure out the problem, and I suspect a manufacturing defect is to blame. But, where NUC systems often disappoint is with limited upgrade potential, and the HX77G has that requirement covered. A killer price-to-performance ratio is the HX99G’s claim to fame.. With the Ryzen 9 6900HX mobile chip (8 cores/16 threads) and the RX 6600M, also a mobile part, the HX99G certainly has enough power to play just about anything at 1080p high to ultra settings. It can even dabble in some 1440p gaming if you play around with the games’ options.
