One of the neat things about the Split Pad Compact and Pro as they are is that they draw such a small amount of power that they're powered by the Switch itself with no noticeable drain. If you start adding more components, you're going to have too much of a draw on the Switch's battery, meaning that each individual Compact or Pro unit would need to have a rechargeable battery. So, you've got rumble, gyro, and a rechargeable battery added to each unit. My guess is that the increase in cost would be closer to 50%. Dom_31 Actually….as someone who has had the 8bitdos, all forms of split “pro controller”-like joycon replacements, multiple joycons and pro controllers…….the Hori Split Pad Compact/Slim is the one I use for portable gaming. Sure, you miss out the amiibo functionality, gyro, Bluetooth and vibration, but for attached joycon style portable gaming, these are the one I use. I find it the most comfortable in my hands for long play sessions without giving up too much of everything else. I play in bed before sleep so I don’t need to be swinging my Switch around. That said, I wouldn’t recommend any joy-con replacements without gyro for TOTK.

Nintendo Switch Online just added two retro classics, as Pokémon Stadium 2 and Pokémon Trading Card Game are now available on the service. Both games have been updated to feature online multiplayer.

I bought a Split Pad Pro just to combat Drift. It's good - does what I wanted - but is a bit more bulky and cumbersome than I'd like. The model on the right does look more like what I'm after. I wonder what it's called (just Joy-Cons?) The Split Pad Compact is the perfect middle ground between the original Nintendo joy cons (which are far too small!) and the large Hori Split Pad Pro. The SP compact is definitely larger enough to make playing easier, but not too bulky. The only controller-related setting in the game that you can change is the jump button. The X jump button and the B cancel button are interchangeable. Minor Changes Can Be Made On The Switch Itself One really impressive detail in this case is that it has a soft barrier resting against the top of the Switch console that keeps pressure off the Compact's shoulder buttons on either side. They really did think of everything. In total for Switch, I own a standard Pro Controller; wireless Hori Sonic; Pac-Man Split Pad Pro; Power-A wireless Mario Bros. 3 and Twilight Princess; and Power-A wired Super Mario Bros., Kirby, and Metroid Dread. I also have Joy-Con in grey, OLED white, blue Skyward Sword edition, and two pairs of Animal Crossing ones I never use.

Without motion, hd rumble or NFC it's really pointless to use them in TotK since the game really uses those features. You'll be giving yourself a lesser experience. Saying that though, sacrificing rumble and gyro is OK as the Compact pad quality is really great. If you play handheld 50% of time or more then definitely a must-buy IMO Also, this is my first comment here, since I just bought a Switch Oled and Zelda TotK on an absolute whim for the love of games 😄 and I've since bought a controller and a dongle to turn ps5 controllers into Switch controllers to play this beautiful game in as many ways as possible. And I can't stop myself 😂😂 any other paraphernalia I "need" as I'm new to switch? 😁 But if i would buy "stuff which are not just games", i would maybe be more interested in collectors editions and the very cool mario kart home circuit which i was pretty close to buy once when it was on sale but even on sale it was still kind of expensive, about 50 dollars (or the equivalent in swedish kronor). And i maybe needed to buy other stuff. Also, an SD card for Switch might be nice and maybe some amiibo.I like that adventure bag but having to take the controller off to store seems a weird choice and I don't really play my switch enough to justify buying more accessories for it. Here are the standard controls for Tears of the Kingdom, which cover Link’s standard movement and combat abilities. Basic Controls Not_Soos that'd be the Split Pad Fit/Comfort. I've been using one for my Switch for 6 months and haven't taken it off. Feels really great and definitely recommended if you can take not having gyro/vibration. Currently, we have the two weapon menus assigned to it, so we’re not stretching our hands across while aiming an arrow to blind a bunch of Bokoblins. And i would like to get an OLED Switch too at some point even though the difference from regular to OLED is not huge. Big, not huge. But it is kind of pricey, it is 100 dollars just to upgrade. And then i might be too attached to sell my original Switch too, it happens. I did not sell my GBA when i got a GBA SP.

I'm 99% sure I want to get that, but would you rate it and recommend? (assuming this is the one you have) More detailed settings can also be made from Switch Settings → Controller and Sensors. However, note that this will affect other games. The Default Setting Is Fine In total for Switch, I own a standard Pro Controller; wireless Hori Sonic; Pac-Man Split Pad Pro; Power-A wireless Mario Bros. 3 and Twilight Princess; and Power-A wired Super Mario Bros., Kirby, and Metroid Dread. I love my hori but had to switch to the Binbok since they have rumble and motion control. The d pad is horrendous though. Lol. InJeffable Yes the link you just sent is the one I'm looking at. The all-white looks really fresh, and will really suit the white/yellow compact joycons I already have from HORI. Not_Soos on the switch pad fit (aka “slim”) I own a pair of the white/yellow ones and while it’s not a scheme it particularly found of I really rate them for comfort vs portability but no motion or wireless at all - ie have to be attached to switch at all times. There’s a gengar and pikachu/mimikyu special edition of these controllers too IIRC. EDIT: also owned the switch pad pro and felt similarly to you just never felt comfortable and found the slim much better
